Windows install manager will remove the mcafee completely, and it's free through the microsoft website. You can also try reinstalling mcafee so you can uninstall it completely with WIM

Go to the McAfee website and download their McAfee removal tool. By running this you will completely remove all of your McAfee software. You will then be able to install your Kapresky anti-virus.

http://www.majorgeeks.com/McAfee_Con...ool_d5420.html

You could also try using Add- programs and remove Mcafee..then files and folders and Remove all references to Mcafee.

Hope this will sort out your problem. :)

I think I have a virus

I would download freeware MALWAREBYTES: http://www.filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/ In Safe Mode with Networking if necessary. In the install UNCHECK the Trial Pro Version, you want the freeware version, run a FULL scan, delete ALL results, reboot normally. I use AVAST FREE 8.0.1489: http://www.fixya.com/answer/answerpageslideview.aspx?ctg=8&thid=18108057 Haven had a Virus in years. Give it a try, it's always rated high in Anti Virus and it's free! First, of course, you have to remove McAfee with the McAfee removal Tool found on the McAfee website.

My pavilion dv7 17" won't allow me to install mcafee anti virus

Before you can do anything, uninstall norton antivirus, go to control panel and click on it, a list of items will come up, when norton shows select remove and wait for the program to uninstall, and restart the computer, go back in and remove norton live update and any other program pertaining to norton. If you have windows 7 go to my computer and "click" on top select uninstall, and follow the outline above. Now you should be able to install the program.

I bought the MCafee Anti-Virus 2011 because my free trial had expired and i had a ton of malware , trojons ect. I registered but it will not install??

Sounds like whatever virus or malware you have on your laptop is keeping mcafee from being installed. Two suggestions for you is to try these other two programs out, they are both free:
Malwarebytes is located here. Try installing it, most of the time it will go thru.
Microsoft has there own malware tool located here. With this tool you download it and then just run it because it doesnt install.
If either of these tools find any viruses or malware, let it remove them. Now at this point reboot your computer and then try installing mcafee. At this point it should install. If it doesn't then there is something going on with windows. At that point I would call Mcafee because they might have to work in the windows registry to get it to take. Good Luck!

Macaffee antivirous is not working though it is valid upto May 2011

Try to repair the installation.

START > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs
highlight the McAfee program - click on the "change/remove" button, and if there's an option
provided to repair the installation, select it.

In the absence of that option (every package is responsible to provide its own options), then
run the McAfee software from the desktop shortcut (icon), or

START > All Programs > McAfee

then find and run an option within this to "update" or "repair" your current McAfee installation.
Viruses will often attempt to damage anti-virus software installations or block access to
Symantec or McAfee web sites, so repairing anti-virus installations is commonly needed.

Hi, i've recently bought an acer aspire one running windows 7. it came with a trial version of McAfee. I uninstalled this and put on Norton 360 which i bought at the same time. Now the pc won't boot up so...

McAfee?? this product you need to check how to totally remove it from your netbook because it will block most of the other anti virus. Consider as business strategy, so that end user just use this anti virus, rather than other.
