Borrowed a 3000 doesnt work,, installed new battery

can you give more information? What is a 3000??? a mouse? who makes it? Is it wire/wireless? Does it have a ball or is it an optical device? You expect a lot for the scant information you provide. Id like to help you. Please help me help you.

Up front, id suggest you google the name of the manufacturer for example "joe blow mouse model 3000" and see what comes up.

There are probably some special driver for the device. If you will check your device manager, you will probably find a device that is not operating because of no driver. Remove the device from the device manager. shut your computer down. Plug in your boreing stock mechanical mouse. Restart your computer. Find the driver (see above), download and run it. Shut down, change your mouse arrangement and restart. Your troubles should be over.
