I've just converted my stove from natural gas to propane and the oven and broiler flame are both to high, how can I lower them?

When converting from natural gas to propane you have to switch the regulator to propane. then on most modern stoves you have to turn the orifice hoods down to adjust for the higher pressure of propane. there are some stoves that you have to purchase a propane conversion kit with different orifices for the burners and oven burners.

I have a K/A kgst307 gas stove that was bought new as a natural gas unit. After 3 years, I moved to a house that had propane. NO PROBLEM because an LP conversions kit came with the stove. Used the stove on...

Although the natural gas orifices for the stove top burners were replaceable with propane orifices, many ovens/broilers orifices are simply adjustable using a 1/2" open end wrench to convert from one gas to another. Some brands are adjustable and some have to be changed out. It depends on the make and model. Do you have your owner's manual? It contains detailed info on converting your unit. I included a link below to choose from the list to download your manual. You'll need your exact model # listed on your stove. Pull out the bottom drawer and look at the data plate for the model # and then find it on the list for the correct manual. Douglas

I have a 6 burner Vulcan stove with a bad oven pilot light.

Hi! I have the same problem with one of my burners (I have a morice range). I changed the thermocouple, but it didn´t help. I contacted Morice in France and was told that the problem most sertainly was the coil inside the gasvalve. I don´t know if it possible to dismantle the ovengasvalve to check the coil. As for a burner valve, one should open the valve at the end were the gas goes out to the burner to locate this coil. Best of luck Lars?ui=2&ik=305879aaef&view=att&th=1244dff9c340942f&attid=0.1&disp=thd&zw

Gas stove makes clicking noise when turning on

When a gas stove is clicking, it means it is trying to ignite the burner. If the knob is held in the ignite position for more then 3 seconds and the burner does not ignite, it means that (1) the gas is shut off to the stove, (2) she does not have gas service set-up yet at the apartment, or (3) the gas nozzles feeding the burner are dirty and clogged.

Most of the time, when you move to a new apartment, you need to call the gas company and have the gas turned on, unless it is included in your rent. Either way, when a house or apartment is unoccupied, the gas is turned off for safety reasons. I would contact the landlord to be sure.

Burners well not light up right and pilot lite is real small

Two possibilities: This is a stove orificed for propane and connected to natural, or the regulator ( a squarish shaped thing in the line under the cooktop) has a problem and is limiting gas flow way below normal. In the first case you just got the stove, in the second it has worked fine until the sudden change.

Garland stove pilot light problem, again but different

I'm not familiar with Garlands. When I run into a similar problem with other stoves of that vintage (Wedgewoods, etc.) I trace the pilot lines piece by piece, from the manifold to the pilot burner, if necessary opening a connection or two to see where I'm getting gas and where I'm not.

Is there a needle valve for adjusting the pilot flame? Is there gas getting all the way to the pilot burner? When it's the pilot burner itself that's the problem, I take it apart, brush/blow/shake out the crud, and run a small drill (#79 or so) through the orifice.
