Question about Aiptek MPVR Digital Camera

MPVR+ CB Picture Sound

On the MPVR+ you can turn the volume down to zero(when doing a video or on video playback), and when you take a picture it doesn't make any sound. On the MPVR+ CB, when you turn the volume to zero the camera still makes a sound for taking the picture. Any ideas on how to turn the sound off for taking the pictures on the MPVR+ CB?

Re: MPVR+ CB Picture Sound

I have this camera and unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a way to turn that sound off. It's odd because I have an IS-DV2+ also and if I turn the volume all the way down, that sound is muted as welll. I don't know what goes on at Aiptek...

Start with the MENU button, navigate to SETUP, then to SOUND VOLUME, hopefully you will find it set to OFF and you can change it to MEDIUM.

However, I'm not sure if this affects video playback or only beeps and sound confirmations. Therefore you should also try the "up/down" navigation buttons for playback volume while a video is being played.

How do I restore the shutter sound to my camera, when I take a picture? My daughter some how removed it. Thank you

Press menu button, scroll sideways to tools icon, then down to mute, then left/right to turn it to off. Not exactly instinctual- for sound to be on, turn mute off. Then scroll down to volume and make sure that the volume for the shutter sound is not turned down (there are several items with individual volume settings).

Does it record video clips with sound? I can record video clips but when i playback it has no sound,if it does have the feature then how would i activate it?

Yes, it does record video with sound but this camera has no inbuilt speaker for playback that sound so transfer video clip in computer and playback it with Windows Media Player to get sound and picture.

No sound on olympus sp-55ouz video playback

To turn on audio, go to the video setting. Hit the menu button. Hit ok to select the camera menu. Go down to the picture of the microphone and hit ok again. Select on and then hit ok again. Your sound should be set. Hit the menu button twice to get you back to taking videos.

Video was recorded with volume but no sound on playback

Be sure that the camera is able to record with sound. When you mean no sound during playback are you talking about playback thru the camera or playback on computer after you download it. Be sure that your camera has a speaker on it to play sound back or that the volume playback is turned up. Also, to help with your situation a little better when asking for help list the model number and manufacture when ever possible. It will help with lengthy feedbacks.

Sound Lag

This is a known issue (though Aiptek might deny it) with this model. Check out this forum at Steve's Digicams for posts on the MPVR and the lag:

It can be fixed with video editing software. I use Windows Movie Maker to copy the audio track from the video and paste it back in as a separate audio track. Then I mute the original and cut very little snips off the pasted-in audio track and slide it over until it matches the video.

It's supposed to be possible to fix this problem with software that will reduce the framerate from 30fps to 29.97fps or 25fps (don't remember which), but I haven't had any luck with that method so far.

How do you take a picture

Does anything happen when you press the snapshot button (not the video record button)? If not, you might have a defective camera.
