Electric starter won't stop clicking - how to unplug starter?

Your electric spark switches got wet. You may be able to remove the knobs and use a hair dryer through the switch/valve opening to dry them out.

Gas stove /electric starter won't click to start cleaned stove

Try cleaning the starter with rubbing alcohol and toothbrush. There might be soap or boiled over residue on the starter. If that doesn't work, try using fine 150 grit sandpaper and gentle clean the starter with it. This problems drove me nuts too. Good luck!

GE gas stove top igniters won't stop clicking

My wife just called me with the same problem - all 4 starters are clicking repeatedly - which started while the range was being cleaned.
From a Google search, this is what I found. Don't know if it will solve our issues, though wanted to share as it sounds like we may all be suffering from dirty starters (electrodes).
My surface burners keep "clicking" even after the burner is lit. There are a few things to check for.

Make sure the electrode (the small metal piece that the spark comes off from) is clean and the holes in the burner are clean, use a pin or paper clip to clean out the burner holes and NOT a tooth pick as these can break off and make things worse. The next thing to check for are the ignition switches (http://www.applianceaid.com/images/surface-ignitor-switch.JPG) under the surface control knobs, the switches can twist and break and keep the spark module on and the spark keeps "clicking" even when the burner is lit.
If every thing looks good, you may have a bad spark (http://www.applianceaid.com/images/surface-moduals.JPG) module, replace it. Sometimes cleaning can get moisture into the surface switches, try drying them with an hair dryer to see of this will help. Repair and checking tips for surface burners. Stove top pilot light

I have a GE Gas Stove XL44 the stove top buners don't light by themselves without manual lighting. When I turn on the buner knob the buner doesn't click. Also I used my self- cleaning oven for the first time and stopped it before the time was up after that is when the stove top buners wouldn't light by theirselves.

no gas flow sounds like a bad gas regulato on the stove. as for the 5 year old ge profile with ignitors not working, you need a part called a spark modual

Gas Stove - Electric Starter

Just happened to me. I unplugged the electric starter, wiped up the water, took off burners, etc., and placed a fan over the stove. After about 3 hours, I plugged in starter and the clicking is no longer.

Hello, your problem is going to be 1 of 2 problems, 1st did you spill liquid on the switch? if so the switch has shorted out, unplug the appliance for 24 hours to dry the switch out then plug it back in...if after 24 hours it is still clicking you have a bad switch (these are the burner knobs) check each one with a ohms meter, the one that is bad will read infinate on your ohms meter when it is switched off.
