My parents just bought a LG LCD model number 42LH50YD. When they first turn it on the colour is distorted almost like they have ntsc selected...after about 10 mins it is back to normal..this happens every time they turn it on.....what can they do? Thanks Lee

what tv colour system are you using PAL or NTSC check each devices settings and see if they match up.

I'm sorry to inform you that the TV is not directly compatible with the power and color system available in India. The TV is only designed to work with 120V/60 Hz and NTSC color System. The power specification in India is 230V/50Hz. The color system is PAL.

However, you can use a Voltage converter and PAL to NTSC converter to make use of the TV in India.

There will some writing mistake on your copy I should say. Your LG has Standard NTSC colour system built in one. Standard NTSC colour system means. NTSC 3.58. If your DVD contains recordings with NTSC 4.43, an other version of NTSC, your player could not identify it. If it is NTSC3.58 itself, lead-in and led-out tracks has been burned well. OK.

Sell it before u leave Korea,tv from Asia used PAL signal frequencies.US tv used NTSC signal frequencies,not compatible.Tv PAL to NTSC signal frequencies,will not work.PAL and NTSC signal frequencies can't be mix.

This problem is due to change in system selected,i.e the broadcasting system is wrongly selected in the TV set.you may change the same in the menu function of the set,like PAL/NTSC/NTSC4.43/SECAM etc.,select as per your broadcasting system and your problem will be solved.

I have had the same problem for a couple of Months . Bought my lg in March 2009, just had it diagnosed as the Screen . Apparently they are not Lg screens but a version called AUO optrix . my tv is a non economical repair and i am waiting for Currys to get back to me . let me know if i can be of any help.
