you splice your speaker connection wires on your stereo and connect them to the high input on the aftermarket amplifier instead of connecting them via rca. then proceed with linking the speakers as per normal on the amp.

Most Bose car stereos have an external amplifier. You will need to see if that is the case on your factory setup and remove the amplifier. Then hook the new headunit straight to the speakers.
I would venture a guess with what little information you've provided (make, model, year...) that your vehicle had a factory installed amplifier. Take the blue wire from the new head unit and attach it to the power lead for the factory amplifier. Fords usually locate the factory amp under the passenger's seat. Chrysler infinity systems (Jeep) under the back seat etc...
I hope I've helped. If so please rate my answer and leave a comment. If not, please re-post.

Hi Lo Adapters Hi/Low adapters are devices that installers use to convert a speaker level stereo to RCA levels so it can be hooked to an external car stereo amplifier. You can cut the speaker wires and hook the hi/lo adapter right up or you can tap onto existing speaker wires without cutting them so the speakers still play while the tap gives you a connection to the hi/lo device for adding something like a subwoofer amp to the existing speakers.... We have hi lo converters in TWO CHANNEL and FOUR CHANNEL configurations and we have them WITH and WITHOUT adjustments.. The adjustable hi/lo converters allow you to fine tune the hi/lo device to match other levels in the car or to make sure the match between your stereo and amplifier is a good match.. The adjustable line converters are the most popular.. We also have some specialty hi lo converters that have special radio plugs on them that may plug right into your factory stereo. Now you can install an amplifier with your factory radio or install a new radio with your factory amplifier!
What format are you burning them in? CDA or MP3 most Factory units will only play CDA format, just pick you up a copy of Nero and choose Aduio CD, it will convert you MP3 format to CDA and you should be able to playthem with no issue, the CDA format also works in the old portable CD players as well...
Hope this Helps,
David

You may be connecting this stereo into an amplified system. If the original factory stereo worked with the factory amplifier, your stereo is not turning the amplifier on. If you purchased the aftermarket wire harness that mates to the factory stereo connector, hook up the "Amplifier Trigger" wire, this wire is usually blue.
I believe that this model Sony amp includes High Level inputs. Those allow you to connect the normal speaker wires coming out of the factory stereo to the amp. If for some reason it doesn't include the inputs you can buy a high level to low lever converter that will give you rca from the factory unit.
