Whirlpool DU1100XTPS 9 Dishwasher acts as if no power

Had to do some electrical work in the bathroom yesterday and the box is poorly labeled so my dh basically switched off all the breakers downstairs.

After turning them back on my dishwasher acts like it has no power. No lights, no sounds, no nothing. It has always worked fine and had finished a load mere hours before the power shutoff. I've already re-tripped the breakers multiple times, including letting it sit for "more than 3 minutes" like the Whirlpool Help Number guy told me. Nothing.

Any ideas? Is there a fuse inside the dishwasher or something that went bad with the power shutoff/turn on?

Why thermal fuse is blown

If you have no power to your machine and the power is on it is the thermal fuse. If the fuse is blown you will get no power at all. To my understanding after talking to many people the thermal fuse is likely the first thing to go bad on a whirlpool dishwasher. A power surge to your unit would cause the fuse to blow or the control board to go bad.

No power to dishwasher

Check to see if your dishwasher has power going to it. If you confirm the power supply is good you likely have a bad fuse. Go to the link if you want to download a video so that you can see how to access and replace the fuse.

Roaches in circuit board of whirlpool dishwasher

They are there for the food supply of course.

Take the front panel off and spray the interior where no electrical connections are with a contact killer roach spray. Do the same with the inside of the dishwasher and then leave for a couple of days with the door closed.

Before using the dishwasher again run it empty with detergent and about 3 cups of vinegar. Do this two or three times to make sure you get all the insecticide out.

You may have to do this more than once as they lay eggs which are not affected by the contact spray.

Read the label on spray or powder to see what company says about toxicity. Boric acid is probably one of the safer things you can use and is effective against roaches (at your pharmacy in powder form). And don't skimp on cleaning the dishwasher after as the idea is to kill the roaches not yourself.

Either that or replace the whole unit.

Whirlpool Dishwasher acting as if there is no power to it

I had this problem just two days ago. For me it was the thermal fuse. On my dishwasher it is located on the main control board, at the top. It is white and has two wires going into to separate terminals. It says "Microtemp" on it. I used a small wire to short it and see if that was the case. Be careful though. There is also another fuse on the bottom of the dishwasher that looks like a little black cylinder with a silver cap, and two terminals coming out of it for wires. In our case that fuse was fine.
