I will set the time and date, but later when my answering machine states time and date it is never correct. When I check the time and date again, something is always off....the year is wrong, the time is wrong, etc.
I'm almost positive there's nothing wrong with your phone "ssandra". You set the day/time/year etc. on the base (answering machine) separately from the handset . . . you press a series of buttons. I've done it several times, but now after a move I can't remember how you do it, and I can't find the instructions I had. That's actually why I was on this forum (looking for the instructions). Since you posted your question last year, this probably can't help you now. But I thought I'd answer anyway . . .

Re: time and date
Many times their is a setting to read the date and time off your caller id. Do you have caller id? If not, it sounds as if you have a bad unit. You can try to go into the menu and reset it back to factory settings, but that is about as far as you can go short of sending it to repair.

You can restore your computer to the factory state, without any of your data, but this will require (at a minimum) the install disk(s) that came with your system, (prior to OSX 10.7) Systems built for 10.7 and later may not have shipped with disks, but Apple will happily provide you those disks at little to no cost.
Nuvi 200 - trying to reset the date using the method suggested by Kevin A (and in a cellar) and after two hours the Nuvi was still "locating satellites". Am I doing something wrong?!
My main problem, however, is that having loaded a copy of the latest European maps onto the card used in the device, when going through the "where to" routine I am asked to enter State/Province. Living in the UK this is a little difficult as there is no answer I can give that the unit will recognise! Any ideas?

Use the keypad to set the date. Press MENU/SELECT,

The screen displays STORED and you'll hear a confirmation beep.
Hi, here are the instructions for setting the time on a 43-3825, which is a very similar model. They should work for your machine too.
1. Press and hold TIME SET/CHECK/>> until you hear it beep twice.
2. Press ANNC/DAY/<< and the machine will say a day. Keep pressing that button until you hear the correct day.
3. Press REC and the machine will say the hour. Keep pressing it until you hear the right hour.
4. Press >= (the play/pause button) until you hear the right minute.
5. Once you've gotten the correct day and time, press TIME SET/CHECK/>> to save it.
While you're doing this, you can't let the machine sit idle for more than 5 seconds at a time, otherwise it will exit the time setup and you'll have to start over again. Good luck!
1. Open One-Touch Speed Dial panel. 2. Press Data Registration. 3. Press Set twice. 4. Press Set again, then use the numeric buttons to type in the correct date and time. 5. Press Set to save the date and time. 6. Press Stop to return to standby mode.
Hope this answers your question. Best of luck. Greg
One thing Radio Shack's answering

This is due to the base unit losing power and needs the clock resetting.
The handsets retain their clocks under battery power so this is a little misleading.
To reset the base unit clock:
- press the OK key
- press the 'down' arrow twice until "DATE/TIME" is displayed.
- press the OK key again, this will display the year. Enter the correct
year on the handset numeric keypad and then press OK. (Only the last
two digits of the year need to be entered).
- The date is then displayed in MM/YY format, enter the correct date on the handset numeric keypad and then press OK.
- The time is then displayed, enter rhe correct time on the handset numeric keypad and press OK.
- The handset then beeps and displays "SAVED".
- Press the "C" button and replace the handset on the base unit.
For BellSouth model 1184 digital answering system:

Again, use the arrow buttons to scroll through the hours, minutes, and am/pm, pressing the "time/code" button to set the correct selections and move onto the next setting option.
