Replaced motherboard &hard drive in hp pavilion, now it will not recognize reovery cd

By replacing the Hard drive you have removed the recovery partition with the operating system on it.
Did you make a backup of the Operating system to a set of CD's or just the Data?
If it was just the data you need a new operating system through HP Tech Support. The instructions are here

Check the video cable connectors, remove the video connectors and reconnect them again.
Check the monitor input settings make sure the input is set to VGA and not to DVI.
Try a different monitor.

Hp pavilion slimline s3020n PC the computer says no analog signal the problem is all the time cant run the computer at all.i have not tried to fix the problem myself

Does the computer turn ON? (do you hear beeps?, do you see lights on the computer NOT THE MONITOR?, do you hear the fans?, etc...) it could be the monitor, try an other one, it could be the video card, swap it with a known good one ,it could be the VGA cable change it, etc... if the computer is all dead try an other electric outlet.

Good luck!

How do I get the DVD out of my s3100n slimline pavilion HP in order to install add'l ram

Most slimeline cases have DVD that remove from the front. That is you will have to remove the front plate of the computer to slide the DVD out. Close to the inside corners on the front usually are compression fit plugs that snap into place, ocassionaly screws but not often. Take your time and slowly push them outwards once you have all of them loose on one side you can gently rock the front back and forth until the other side dislodges.

It is important to not use excessive force or you could break the pins in which case you will need to have some glue handy.

I want to upgrade the RAM, and when I opened the desktop the dvd is positioned over the memory slots. I CANNOT FIGURE OUT HOW TO REMOVE THE DVD TO SWOP OUT THE RAM

see if there the motherboard is secured onto a rack that can slide out of the casing. most newer computers have this feature. if not, you will have to unscrew the dvd drive from the casing to get to memory slots. unplug the drive, find the mounting screws, and remove the drive. remember to plug everything back up (power, interface cable, digital cable if present).

good luck.

How do i remove the dvd from an hp s3100n desktop.

You need to take the cover off the computer on both sides. Normally the optical drive is secured by four screws, two on the left and two on the right. Take those screws out and slide the drive forward enough to get to your memory stick. You may not have to unplug the cables, but if you can't slide it out far enough you will.

Cant Remove Optical Drive to add memory

At HP's web site, the instructions mention removing a screw on the side of the CD to remove it from the box. Try looking here. (If that link doesn't work, go to www.hp.com and in the search window, enter S3020n. Click on Help & Troubleshooting, then Setup and Install, then Adding & Removing Hardware. There's a link to replace the CD there. They also have PDF versions of the manuals.
