Today when I started the dishwasher it sounds like there is a garbage disposal inside the appliance. The sound is very course. It subsides at times during the cycle, but has not went away totally.
I have the exact same problem on the same model. Not sure about how to go about fixing it.I have the exact same problem on the same model. Not sure about how to go about fixing it.
I also have the same model, about 14 months old. The noise seems to come and go especially during the rinse cycle.I also have the same model, about 14 months old. The noise seems to come and go especially during the rinse cycle.

Is sink drain line clogged? Disconnect drain line at sink tailpiece and lower down to see if water inside dishwasher drains. Call serviceman to clear clog in dishwasher hose, or repair dishwasher pump motor.
This may be coming from your garbage disposal. You may not realize that residue in the disposal will seep back into the dishwasher line. Make sure the hose to the dishwasher is higher than the port where the hose enters the disposal. This will work even if you don't have a disposal. Many people make the mistake of lying the discharge hose from the dishwasher lay flat. It must go up to come down. That's why dishwashers have pumps. Hope this helped !
Maytag Quiet Series 300. The lights flash in sequence starting from the outside traveling
inward. The timer counts backwards from 50 to 1. Then the sequence
starts over. and continues over and over. I'm able to clear it when the
time reaches 1 or 2. It stays off for a while (3-4 hours) then starts
over. I can not clear the countdown until it reaches 1 or 2. After I
clear it the dishwasher will work, but until then, no way. This happens
with the door open or closed.
Your problem is: You have a maytag quiet series 300. When it is done with any of the cycles in leaves about 1-2 inches of water in the bottom of the dishwasher. You can manually hit the start button twice and it will go through a 2 minute cycle and pump out the water. You have cleaned the filter inside the dishwasher where it drains and have checked the hose to the disposal and it pumps out fine. It just doen't pump itself at the end of the cycle.
It sounds like a bad control board. It's in the top of the door panel. I don't recomend this repair to the average homeowner. You might consider the Repair Directory to find a repairman.
