Question about Toshiba Satellite 1415-S173 Notebook

1 Answer

Toshiba 1415-S173 Laptop power led on keyboad lights up whenI press the poer button, and goes off when I turn it off.I checked the screen on another mother board, and it works fine. The cooling fan comes on when it heats up, but there is no action from the hard drive, or the floppy drive. The PCMICA card connetor broke off, when the compuer fell onto the wireless modem, which was hooked into position. Everytihing else appears fine, with no breaks in the board, or other components.

Toshiba cmos battery disconnect

on a Satellite 1415-S115 You will have to open up the clam shell and remove all of the B25 and F6 screws from the bottom, as well as the B16 and B6 screws under the keyboard. To remove the keyboard, pry up the trim piece that holds the power button with a sharp nife a stanley blade is always usefull remove the three screws. mind the wireless wire leads there a pain.

The CMOS battery will be under the right side of the hand rest, next to the mouse. It has two leads and the battery is in a blue bag.

simply replace the battery and reassemble your laptop.
