Question about Compaq Presario M2000 Notebook
I come accross this problem quite a lot, very seldome is it the Bios. Almost always it is the Screen that has been twisted and the ribbon cable that is sandwiched in the LCD Panel has fategued, 1 in about 100 had been a Bios problem Solution: It won't harm to update your Bios but be careful as you can damage your computer to the point of no return if you fail for some reason. The other solution is to replace the Screen or Use an external Monitor. More details for diagnostics at my website: www.powerjackrepair.com

If they appear when windows or your operating system hasnt started yet then it likely a bios problem or a physical problem with your screen.
try an external monitor to see if u get the lines
upgrade you bios
if no improvement then let a technician look at your screen
or replace it all together. if u cant afford it, use an external monitor
