My device has stopped working completely, please help!

PLEASE HELP! I've had the compact wireless-g working for quite a while before, but it had recently stopped connecting to the internet as often, to never connecting, and now my computer won't even recognize the device! I've tried uninstalling everything and reinstalling, but I don't think everything unistalled/reinstalled properly and I might've just dug a deeper hole for myself.
I am absolutely terrible with computers and any kind of help would be much appreciated. Please let me know if you have any advice at all.
