Question about Printers & Copiers
I have recently aquired and older cannon copier (NP 4050)
It ran awesome for months with no problems.
I had a local guy check it out (whom is no longer available) and his opinion was its time for a drum kit replacement..
I dont have the manual or schematic so I seeking direction..
I have brandnew drum in hand and ready to go....
Thank you in advance...
Did you first clean the optics first. This will get the gray back ground or dark back ground gone. To remove the drum is not hard, but can be a dirty job. Fist take the 2 screws off the gray cover on the front of the drum. You may have to pull out the primary charge corona ass'y first. next disingage the developping ass'y gray lever on the right. It may be locked into place with a screw if so remove screw and turn the lever to the right. next look on the drum unit front plate for one screw near the hole where the primary was remove it and the drum should be lose. Make sure the trans port ass'y is in the down position. The drum should slide out towards you. Once it is out it is kind of self explained on how to get the drum apart. the only hard then is that the waste toner is inside the drum it self. It must be vacumed out or you will make a very big toner bomb in your room. Also, you will need a new drum blade as well. To reinstall the drum do the revese of removely. Good luck
