Yes same problem for us, (switch will not turn on, except that after a few days it starts working again for a few more days. All the switches are in the correct places. It is exactly one year old.

No steps taken. Do not know what to do?

Not only won't the coffeemaker turn on, even the clock is off! I've tried holding the "on" switch until the red light comes on. It worked once, but it may also be a coincidence. What is causing this problem and how can it be fixed permanently. What does Cuisinart say?

Yes, it happened to me a few times. I unplug it and let it sit for a day or so, and just starts working again,.....I don't know why. It's very frustrating. I wish there was a permanent fix.

Same as the others. I have had 3 (didn't learn on the 1st one) I returned the 1st one at 13 mo. The second went 15 mo, and Bed,Bath, and Beyond handled it because of the situation, and I was told not to bring this one back! This on lasted 16 mo. and now what do you do!
E-mails go unanswered. I spend over $120.00, and got a piece of ****.
I should have kept buying the $25.00 machine that never dies....

I called Cuisinart. There is no way to fix it. If your coffee maker is still under warranty (3 years) they will replace it. Otherwise, its next stop is the landfill.

Is the mode rotary switch in the "Brew" position? It sounds like yours is in the "Auto" mode.

Help with cuisinart dcc-1200.

Is the cold water supply tank full? Have you set the shutoff delay up to max (4 hrs)? If you've used it very little, it may still be under warranty, and the store you got it from may exchange it for you.

Our Cuisinart DCC-1200 Coffee maker has been turing off during the brew cycle. We just keep flipping the switch to the ON position but I have no clue why it would be doing this.

Might be a sign of a circuit failure, or that it's not getting the amount of electricity it needs. Does it run along side another power hungry appliance or device? Could also be moisture has entered a section it shouldn't and is shorting somehting ouit.

DCC-1200 coffee maker. I've had it for 2 months and the clean light came on. I have run several pots of vinegar, unplugged the machine overnight and reset to factory settings and still the machine...

Most coffee makers use a small check-valve in the feed line to the coffee basket and if a small particle gets trapped in it, the pumping action becomes erratic or very slow. To be sure any lime deposits are dissolved, use < 1 cup of Lime Away or similar product such as CLR. Make sure there is no water left in the reservoir and pour the product into it. With no coffee in the basket and the pot in place, turn on the machine and watch for the first drops into the pot, then turn off the machine again.
Let it stand for a couple of hours (I'd recommend against leaving it overnight) and then turn it back on to let it finish pumping the reservoir empty. Check the sediment in the bottom of the pot and if you see any 'crud' such as particles of lime or even a granule of coffee, you may have solved the problem.
If that seems to be the case, flush the machine with a tablespoon of baking soda and then clear water.
Good luck-

DC1200 coffee maker when I flip the switch to brew nothing happen

Your switch has shorted and it's time to get a new one. There is no way to fix this and frankly, it will cost more to fix it than to just buy a replacement. Sorry for the bad news!

Coffee tastes like plastic!

We have had our DCC-1200 for 3 months. The plastic taste occurs about every 3rd pot, and it does NOT get better. We've wasted over a pound of coffee. Cuisinart says we are the only people in the world with the problem. Well, I guess not...
