I have a Maytag French Door refrigerator (model #MFD2561HEW) that stopped cooling. The area under the inside bottom drawers is cool to the touch, the hinged seal that folds in between the french doors is warm, and the temperature controls keep alternating between "80" and "88". I emptied out and cleaned the inside of my refrigerator to check for any blockages, but didn't see any. I also removed the front base grille and vacuumed the condenser coil, but haven't noticed any changes. The freezer and fan in the back of the refrigerator appear to be work fine. What recommendations do you have to solve this problem?
Thank you.
The temp sensor is the most likely cause of this problem. However, you have other possible options that you can test and check:
likely the problem with your fridge is a bad dumper control. This is a
part which operates with the air flow from the freezer into the fresh
food compartment.
The dumper control is located in the in the upper left corner in the fresh food compartment.
