LCD Display - Gray Shades/Lines

I have a DEL Dimension 4100 (PIII processor) year 2000 model desk top. Recently, I bought a new Samsung 906 LCD display. Now I am seeing gray lines/shades in the monitor. During the monitor self-check it works fine. But while connected to PC, there are shades.
Is it due to Video card. If video card needs to be replaced what is the cheap and good suitable one available now. My PC has 200 watts PSU.
Please advise. Thanks.

I have a sony vaio laptop and the screen has all lines on it,what could it be?

It is most likely the LCD assembly, but to eliminate other possibilities, connect up a desk top monitor to your laptop, and toggle to the external display and check the picture on it. If it is good, then your LCD is bad, if the picture is still bad, you have on board video problems, and not easily fixed. To toggle to the external display mode, you usually have to hold down the function key and hit the function key with a picture of a TV screen on it.

I have a hpdv6000 series laptop and recently it

I believe that your LCD panel is the problem, but you should verify that you have good video, by toggling to an external monitor to check your output. If it dispays good, you have an LCD problem.

Change power output from motherboard

Windows will automatically install your desktop monitor using generic drivers. But if it doesn't, go to safemode by pressing F8 before it goes to windows. Change your settings from there. Also, normally, CRT monitors can take more than LCD monitors.

Hp zt1260 no display

My friend, I hate to say this however you told me that this was happening after your screen was broke. You have to replace it with a new monitor since it was damaged. That's the best solution we can do.

The problem resides with your monitor or your video card. To easily find out, get a family member or a neighbor to bring over their LCD monitor, then check the display. An LCD is the easiest to carry and easiest to position on a busy desk. If the display is normal on the LCD monitor, then your "other" monitor is defective, and vice versa.
