Question about HP PSC 1510 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Faulty printer HI i have owned this printer for over a year , in this time I have encountered several problems they are the following: * Alignment * Ink useage *Blurred printing * Very slow * Colour is not printing as it should. * The error button comes on continously. * constant paper jamming. All in all I am fed up with this printer and would like to have it replaced with a printer that actually works properly as soon as possible. I would appreciate any advice on how to go about exchanging this item or any helpful tips in choosing an alternative model. Thanks Kaz

1. Unplug the printer power cord and remove the back door.
2. Wipe the paper rollers with a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled or bottled water. Rotate the rollers with your fingers to clean all the way around.
3. Allow the rollers to dry completely, then close the rear door.
4. Open the print carriage access door.
5. Use a clean, dry cotton cloth to wipe the carriage rod. Move the carriage as needed to clean the full length of the rod. Do not lubricate the rod.
6. Close the printer, plug the power cord in, and turn on the printer power.


Unseating and reseating the cartridge
1. Turn the unit on and open the lid or top cover.
2. Remove the cartridges.
3. Re-insert the cartridges.
4. Close the unit's lid or top cover.
5. Cycle the power to the device by turning the printer off for a few seconds.
6. Turn the printer back on.
7. Print a test page. If this does not solve the problem, proceed to the next section.
Wiping the cartridge contacts
1. Turn the unit on and open the lid or top cover.
2. Remove the cartridges.
3. Using a clean, dry lint-free cloth (a coffee filter works well),
wipe the cartridge contacts, from the top to the bottom. The contact
area of the cartridge should be rubbed briskly to remove the waxy
lubricant material from the gold contacts.
4. The contacts inside the printer may also require cleaning. Using a
clean, dry, lint-free cloth, 5. gently wipe the contacts, from the
top to the bottom.
5. Re-insert the cartridges and close the printer's top cover.
Print a test page. If the problem persists, perform a hard reset as
described in the next section.

A200 faulty selector switch

Same thing happened mine. Take out battery and leave camera for a few weeks until internal cell goes flat. Switch to "stills" mode and put battery back in. You will need to reset the date and time. LEAVE SWITCH IN "STILLS" mode for ever more.

I do not understand what you are saying. You say the machine works ok. then 2 minutes later it starts up on its own and prints out something but not in sequence and on this print there is a line then the printer stops then prints again?????

I just changed all the cartridges in my epson stylus sx12 but still says theyre empty

According to your problem first make sure that you have installed the cartridges properly. Go the the printer properties in control panel and follow the steps open the printinging preferences tab> maintainance tab > Ink cartridge replacement> then the window will show the process of the replacement of ink cartridge. Follow those steps of replacement. Then let the cartridge be processed, it will take a few time. And then your cartridge replacement will be finished. Then align the cartridges from the alignment option in printing preferences as well. If it doesn't solve your problem then the cartridges are faulty, replace a new set of cartridge is recomended.

Hi, Wonder can you help my printer keeps printing off test page everytime it is turned on. this is only happening since i changed the cartridge, never did this before. thanks


Your printer is printing alignment pages, because the cartridge alignment was not completed since you replaced them. Follow the below steps to complete alignment.

  1. Turn the printer OFF and then turn back ON.
  2. Wait until the alignment sheet prints out fully.
  3. Place the alignment test page over the scanner glass.
  4. Press start color scan button.
  5. The printer "power" light will start flashing, indication the alignment process.
  6. After the printer stops flashing, turn off and then ON the printer.It will not print any test pages further.
We need to run alignment test every-time while we replace ink cartridges.

What is E7 on the canon mp160, and not working anyway..

Print Head Alignment
  1. Ensure that the printer is powered on and open the paper output tray. (Confirm that the paper thickness lever is set to the left.)


  2. Load a sheet of A4 or Letter-sized plain paper in the auto sheet feeder (or ASF).

  3. Press the <Maintenance> button several times until [P] is displayed in the LED.


  4. Press the <Black> or <Color> button. The machine prints the head alignment sheet.


  5. From each group, select the pattern which has the least visible streak.

  6. Pencil in the circles on the left side of the selected pattern, using a dark pencil.

    < 1 > Good example

    < 2 > Bad example: Checkmark

  7. Open the document cover and load the head alignment sheet on the platen glass.

    Note: - Place the printed side down.- Align the sheet with the alignment mark (shown by the arrow) on the lower right corner of the platen glass.

  9. Confirm that U is displayed in the LED.
    If U is not displayed, press the <Maintenance> button several times until [U] is displayed in the LED.


  10. Press the Black or Color button.

I have a pixma mp830. I try to print in color but it comes out mostly pink with lines everywhere. I have taken all ink cartridges and replaced them with new ones. I took out the holder for the cartridges...

Hi and good day, I have been in an ink refilling for almost 6 years. Base on the problem that you encountered, I also encounter it several times. The thing that you have mentioned about cleaning can be helpful if your ink cartridge's printer head is still good.

Now, you do the cleaning in the maintenance, if you have not done it. If the print does this same thing, I conclude that the problem is the printer head of your cartridge. Your ink cartridges printer head have it's life span. If your printer is EPSON the printer head is attached to the printer right? then you need to replaced it with a new printer. But if your printer is canon, you an buy a new ink cartridges with a good printer head status.

Hp inkjet 5650 cover will not close and I can't print anything.

I own several 5650's. There are two ways to solve it. Open then let the lid slam shut several times, and eventually it will close all the way. Second is to slap the right side of the printer and the vibration will let the lid close. Use gentle but firm force, I have done this alot and no damage.

Hi Mahdavi,

In HP PSC 1315 printer after replacing new Ink Cartridges the printer always prints Alignment test page every time you turn it ON.To resolve this problem you must complete the alignment process.


1.Turn the printer ON.
2.Once its ON, it will print the Alignment page. Place the page in the scanner bed correctly.
3.Then Press START SCAN button.
4.The power light will start blinking, wait until the power lights turns solid.
5.Now Alignment process is over.Discard the paper from scanner.
6.Turn the printer OFF and then ON, it will not print that page again.

Note:Please follow this steps every time when you replace the Cartridges.
