1 Answer

Plug-in card the Printer on/off button flashes and the printer will not startup. I follow the tips (unplug and replug both cords to the printer) the end that plugs into the printer is hot. Sometime this eventually will cause the printer to print. Other time it does work.

Press the black or color button.
If this does not work.
Unplug the printer from electrical outlet.
Wait at least 2 minutes.
Do not just unplug and replug.
Plug back in printer.
This will reset the printer.
The printer will recycle during startup.

Pressing the button to switch on but nothing is happening could it be a fuse or do I need to buy a new printer?

Go through the following checklist:
  • Plug printer straight to power outlet in the wall. Bypass any surge devices or power strips as they can draw away power from the printer.
  • Properly secure the power cord.
  • Unplug the power adapter from the printer, replug after 30 seconds. The power adapter is the rectangular black box, behind the printer where the power cord is attached. Check if it's warm or cold. It can be a defective power adapter.
  • If you have access to a voltmeter, test power adapter(30V output).
If problem continues, contact Lexmark technical support.

Printer is showing "error: 0xf0af0001 Reset Power". I have unplugged and then plugged in printer multiple times and printer comes ok for about 30 seconds and then the same error message appears will all...

last month i had same problem and i contacted customer care and i got this solution. And this works.

Step 1:

Perform a partial reset.

A partial reset returns the user settings to the factory defaults. The language and country/region settings may also be deleted.

Please perform the partial reset using the following steps:

a. Unplug the power cord from the all-in-one.

b. Press and hold the "#" and 3 button on the front panel keypad.

c. While still holding the buttons down, plug the power cord back in. Release the buttons after the all-in-one begins to initialize.

If the issue persists, follow Step 2.

Step 2:

Perform a semi-full reset.

a. Unplug the power cord from the all-in-one.

b. Press and hold the "#" and 6 button on the front panel keypad.

c. While still holding the buttons down, plug the power cord back in. Release the buttons after the all-in-one begins to initialize.

I have an MP530 printer - error message 5C10 is

You could try resetting the printer:

1) On the panel, press and hold the <On/Off> button until the display goes blank (approx. 1 second). If the display does not go blank, unplug the power cord.

2) Wait approx. 10 seconds, plug in the power cord (if removed in previous step), press the <On/Off> button to power on the unit.

3) Wait for the printer to cycle through its startup routine before trying another print job.

I hope this helps!

Hi Joe,

Lets try 2 steps:

1st approach:
1. With the printer “ON” unplug the power cord form the printer.
2. With the printer now unplugged, press and hold “# and 6′ keys in the printer..
3. While still holding these keys down, plug the power cord back.
4. Wait until the screen goes blank before you release those keys.
5. Follow on printer screen instructions.

2nd approach:
1. Unplug the power cord
2. Wait for 30 seconds.
3. Plug the power cable back in the printer and turn it on.
(repeat 3 times)

If none of these to approaches work, I’m afraid the failure is “fatal” as the main circuit board might be fried L

Regards,
Ed
