The washer works fine except the final spin cycle won't stop. Does this in both Normal and Permanent Press mode. I can manually stop it by pushing in the control button though.
Assuming that this is a basic top load, direct drive, neutral drain washer it seems as if the problem is likely in the timer.
The transmission and draining are controlled by the motor which gets it's power through the timer. If the timer isn't advancing once it gets to the spin cycle area, the motor keeps getting power, the machine keeps spinning and only by pushing in the control knob will the motor stop.
