The first filter lasted about 2 years and then I started having problems.  The information I have is that they are to last about 400 gallons of water usage and  I can't believe I do 400 gallons in 10 days. Re: filter ejection

Sounds like the O ring isn't present on the nipple part of the filter and just for giggeles lets just turn the valve on the water supply valve to the frig. down some just incase you really got some pressure going. Before you install the filter look up into the installation location for possible debris or maybe even and old O ring........Hope it helps this is what I would do.....

Timer ice maker kenmore side

If the timer piece you are referring to is behind the square white cover, and it's moving slightly back and forth, you should visually check the ice making area it's self to see if the ejector fingers are jammed with ice, or against the ice stripper. Ice Maker jams can be caused by reduced water pressure to the unit mainly from the water filter, your water filter in the toe kick should be replaced at an interval of 6 months to a year, regardless of filter status light. When water pressure is low, not enough water fills the unit and the undersized cubes can become lodged or stuck in the ice maker while being ejected, equally so if there is an over fill situation caused by other failures the ice maker can't eject at all. Is your ice tray filling with water? If not, then I would suspect the water inlet valve ( - Item 10)

If it does fill with water, but does not eject the ice cubes to start a new cycle, I would suspect the ice maker motor(Item 37). BUT if it is the motor, that part costs $91.22 and you can replace the entire ice maker (Item 100) for $157.95

What is the model number for the water filter for the KitchenAid #KSRG25FKSS16 refrigeator and where is it found in the refrigerator? thank you.

Hello pssutherland,

I understand that you need to locate the water filter on your KitchenAid fridge. The water filter is located at the bottom of the fridge in the grill. There is a eject button that you will need to press next to the water filter in order to get it to release.
1. Press the eject button
2. pull the filter straight out
3. Remove the cap by turning it clockwise (you will need to install this on the new one)
4. Reinstall the cap on the new filter
5. Push the filter in until the eject button pops back out.
6. Purge the system run three full glass of water thru the water dispencer and throw away.
7. You are done

Thank you for choosing

How do I replace kitchenaid superba KSCS25FKSS00 water filter. When I try to turn counterclockwise with my hand it doesnt budge? I have never done it in 5 years

Here are some instructions for you.. it is important to press the ejection button and pull the filter straight out before turning counter clockwise..

1.Press the eject button to release the filter from the base grille. 2. Pull the filter straight out.
3.Turn the cap counterclockwise to remove it from the filter. IMPORTANT: Do not discard the cap. It is part of your refrigerator. Keep the cap to use with the replacement filter. 4.Align the ridge on the cap with the arrow on the new filter and turn the cap until it snaps into place. NOTE: You can run the dispenser without a filter. Your water will not be filtered. Simply insert the cap all of the way into the base grille and rotate the cap until it is firmly in place. 5. Remove the protective covers from the O-rings. 6.Push the filter into the base grille. The eject button will pop back out when the filter is fully engaged.
I hope this information helps you with your filter. They suggest you replace the filter every 6 months. It could help the quality of your water and if you make a lot of ice..

Water filter does not eject when button is depressed.

I just had the same ting happen to me. You need to leave the cover to the water filter (it is the black plastic cover that is part of the grill) is still connected to the filter. After depressing the eject button, this cap helps to pull out the filter. DON'T throw away this very important part, other wise it is impossible to get the filter out. Once you eject the filter, some water will leak from the filter. Just put it in the sink to drain for a while.

Cannot locate water filter eject button

your water filter is located in the kickplate area, you either have to twist it counter clock wise , or rightnext to the filter is a little button says PUSH. it ejects the PUR filter for replacement . ordering instuctions on filter itself

Look at the ice maker and see what position the ejector bar (white bar with fingers that turns and ejects the ice).  Looking at the ice maker from the front (front is white plastic cover) the ejector bar should be in the 2-3 o'clock position .  If it is not then the module is broken.  In this case the module and ice maker thermostat need to be replaced.  If not sure how to do this repair then just buy a new ice maker.  Let me know what you find and we can go further if necessary.  This is the first thing to check.
