My apc1500 battery backup started blinking overload then pleeping and turned off.i bought a new batterie-- still the same. i switched the battery to another apc1500 and the new battery worked fine. i know my batteries are ok.\r\ni have the pc-monitor- printer and speaker plugged into the apc. nothing more
Sounds like the surge supressor part of the ps did it's job and the unit needs to be replaced now.
Unplug the printer. Generally, a UPS is to let you safely save your open files or documents and safely shut down. It is not really meant to keep everything such as printers and other items running.
If it is a laser printer, that is the problem.
If you have an older CRT monitor, that uses a large portion of the battery power capacity.
Also, never plug in a "heater" into a UPS.
hope this helps!
