Please remove the cartridges from the printer. Take a dry lint free paper towel and gently wipe the contacts on the back of the cartridge (not the bottom from where ink is present). Wipe the contacts inside the printer (on cartridge carrier). Please snap the cartridges back into the cartridge carrier and please try to print a printer self test.
Remove the cartridges from the printer. Close the cover. Unplug the printer from the power source and leave it unplug for now. Then, wipe the nozzles of the cartridge using a damp paper towel. Plug the printer back to its power source. When the printer's ready, re-insert the cartridges. Close the cover. The printer will print an alignment page. Just let it print the page without cancelling it. If that doesn't resolve the problem, try pressing the Settings button on the printer control panel. Go to Maintenance, then hit ok. Select Clean cartridges, then hit ok. That will force inks out of the cartridges and also cleans the nozzles. You can check ink levels by pressing Settings on the printer control panel. Then go to Maintenance, select Check Ink Levels. If ink level is still not recognized, have the ink cartridge replaced. You probably got a defective one.
Turn off you printer remove the cartridges and try gently moving the ink cartridges carrier from left to right for about a min.
also you can try to wipe machine oil on the bar that holds the ink cartridge carrier then put the cartridges back inside the carrier then turn on you printer and try to print again If problem persist
turn off your printer unplug the power cable from the printer lift you printer and put it in an upside down position then shake the printer from left to right see if there's any foreign objects stuck inside the printer
It could well be the printer head (the area where the cartridge locks into the printer) has gummed up contacts. Take a soft, lint-free cloth and wipe down gently wipe down the face of the contacts. Keep wiping until all residue is removed. Reinstall a color cartridge and then run the printer's software alignment utility (this is part of the software that comes with the printer).
you need to print only in black if that is all the ink you have, and also you need to remove the color cartridge as it still registers in the printer as able to be used, although it is empty or near so. Did you remove the tape over the print head fron the new ink cartridge? Do a print head alignment, or use the toolbox icon to tell the printer that you just replaced the cartridge. Some HP models chip the ink cartridges so even a refill wont register as a full tank and the printer wont print. chip needs to be reset (difficult) or just replaced with a new cartridge.
