Electrolux Icon Mystery issue

Hi - product is the Electrolux Icon - regular and convection double ovens.

I used the self clean feature on the upper oven for the first time. worked great. 3 days later the upper oven will not function. I select the Upper oven and the type of heat (say Bake) and teh temperature. It seems to work - the fan is going 0- but it is not heating. What should I check?

Lower oven seems to work ok.

Thanks for the info - found teh issue - its like the self cleaner got so hot it tripped a wire - took off the front - assured all the connections were sound and Presto - it works fine.

Check to be sure your racks are all slid in to the back. Are you getting a error code?

Upper oven problem,

The Keypad (membrane) switches seem to be malfunctioning, this is very common on ovens these days especially if the unit has been self cleaned often. If you replace the membrane switch the unit should have all its functions again.

After light cleaning-Electrolux Ew30ES65 upper oven won't heat now! The bottom oven works fine, the lights are all on, the convection fan works in the upper over but the heating elements don't heat now....

I had the same issue with my EW30EW55GS. This is the second time! The dirst time, the technician replaced all the circuit boards (took a month to get the parts). I figured, I would try a light cleaning again. SAME THING! Again, I'm without an oven for no telling how long. The oven looks great, but don't be fooled - it's a piece of junk!

Kitchenaid double digital convection conversion oven keypad went out. Any ideas on the problem. Electric panel circuit breakers are okay. Sharon C.

I think these use the same controller board as the Jenn-air units, they have a weak capacitor (C3) on the control board (Timer/control Display). Remove the top panel and look for a discolored or leaking capacitor (usually black about 1/2" high 3/8" in accross). Replace the capacitor and the problem goes away, until next time you use the self clean cycle which seems to overheat the control board and ruin the capacitor.

Uneven rising & baking in convection oven

I repair commercial cooking equipment for a living. When a customer complains about uneven cooking the #1 thing that these manufacturers ask is..... are they turning (180*) the baking sheets half way thru the cook cycle. #2 are they staggering the pans front to back & side to side. It's kind of a pain but, works for the commercial ones.
