HP Deskjet F4180 Color changes and lines in photo printing

HP Deskjet F4180
I use refills for my cartridges so this may be the problem, but here goes...

My pictures start out printing darker colors, (maybe and inch), then after that it distinctly changes to light colors with fine vertical lines through it. I've cleaned the print heads on the cartridges, and performed a print head cleaning, but the same problem occurs. I hate to buy new cartridges if the problem is the pirnter itself. Any ideas?

HP always recommend that ink cartridge should be replace by original ink.

As this kind of scenario will occur if the ink will just be replace by a refill ink.

Hi Angela

Well this is a problem with the cartridge and also the software.

Cartridge:
1. Try to clean manually and see if you are getting all the colors (C,M,Y)
2. Install back in the printer and try to clean from software

SYSTEM
1. Goto printer properties
2. Choose the color setting tab
3. check and see if you can find the color profile as RGB
4. Change it to CMYK profile

Restart the PC and try to print again.

Maybe u used refilled cartridge?

You must be using HP21.
Have you refill your cartridge at all?

If you did, gentely wipe out the cartridge circuit part with Q-tip (with bit of alcohol).
And wipe out the circuit part in the printer where cartridge goes in as well.

And try back.
Sometimes by having some dust or bit of ink make cartridge unreadable.

If you used brand new, do same thing to cartridge circuit part.
Otherwise, there got to be some circuit shot happen in printer.

For your reference, HP f4180 is not a new model and has not cause major problem.
Good practical and durability is good.

If you would like to save money, try refill kit by "ROADINK".
Not only they are easy, but also the printing quality is good.
For your better understanding pls check out my youtube video.
And will see how easy ink refill can be done.

Printer (HP deskjet F4180) showing E and color

This means that there is issue with the Ink Cartridges.
Please remove and re-insert the cartridges.
Check the expiration date on them. Also make sure that you are using genuine HP Cartridges, not refilled or Remanufactured.
If the issue still persists, please replace the ink cartridges.

Hello, after refilling ink cartridges HP21 and

Since HP’s ink technology is different from other manufacturers, they do not recommend to use refilled or remanufactured ink cartridges. Though the cost of genuine HP cartridges are bit expensive than the other cartridges, HP cartridges are manufactured in keeping mind the important factors print quality and customer satisfaction. Using the refilled cartridges may degrade the print quality and may damage the printer’s internal hardware.

I request you to use genuine HP Inkjet cartridges and verify the result.

Deskjet 1540 changes color from black to red

There could be two reason for the issue. One if you refill cartridges then that could cause the problem. Second your cartridge might be running low. Please reply or let me know if this help. Change your cartridges.

Thanks
