I am only getting 34-54 Mbps with my Linksys. I have a wireless adapter in my computer. It will go lower, but never than higher than 54 Mbps? I know i can get 100mbps because my Xbox does. Help me out!

Wireless Ethernet (802.11a or b or g) does not get the bandwidth you would get through a cabled connection. My guess is that you have an 802.11g network card in your computer and 54 Mbps is the top theoretical speed for that type of Wireless adapter. Cabled connections will give you the theoretical throughput of 100 Mbps. Also, since this Linksys device is not a Wireless access point but simply a switch, your computer doesn't actually connect to it. Most likely you are connecting to your cable or DSL modem. Most of these have a wireless radio built in.

Could be a few different problems. One is your internet connection speed. If its below 5Ms I would say you are blowing out your bandwidth and it your ISP can't keep up, thus causing a slow connection or even some time-outs. If you are at or above 5M, check what ports you have your connections in. Some hubs are set specifically to take the ISP in a certain port and have it looped through another port. I'd start there.

Only one computer can acces the internet in my hub , I have a Linksys NH1005 hub , I'm using cable dsl , but only one computer can acces the internet , it does not matter wich port

If you want to use more than one computers you will need to replace that hub with router. Best is to get wireless router because in most routers you have places for wired connections and also wireless connection.

Reason why you can't use more than one computer is simple because most ISP are allowing only one computer to be connected from DSL modem.

Dynex dx-ehb4 will not change ip addresses

I am not familiar with that router so I will provide general knowledge and you can apply it to fix your problem.
It sounds like your cable modem is willing to supply a single IP address. This can and should be connected to the WAN port of your router. The problem is that the router is not assigning IP addresses to the equipment that is connected to its LAN ports. Instead, it allows that single cable modem IP to be assigned to connection #1 and everybody else gets nothing. Get the computer working through it, connect to the router as per the owners manual and turn on NAT or DHCP, whichever it offers. Reboot the computer and connect xbox and you should be good. This was probably not an issue with DSL because your DSL modem would supply up to about 10 IP addresses and they also passed through the router.

Trying to connect 4 dsl routers to 48 port switch

Are you trying to set up router ?
You can set up your router manually, without the CD.
Make sure that your computer is able to go online directly through the modem.
If your computer is able to go online through the modem, that means the modem is working fine.
You will need to connect the computer to the router and the modem to the router.
open the set up page of the router and change the settings of the router according to the ISP.

Connecting xbox live to my d link 1005d

Is the PC's connected to the D-Link able to browse the Internet? Sometimes the MAC Address will bind to certain IP's and must be cleared out when the Router is replaced. Please unplug the power to the router, X-Box and Cable or DSL modem. 1st plug in the power to the DSL/Cable modem until the "Ready" light comes on. 2nd plug in the power to the D-Link Router, wait 30 seconds then plug in the X-Box, power on and test. If a computer plugged into the D-Link will browse Internet then this is the solution to your problem.

Connecting 2 PCs Via the D-Link Hub

Hi Ajog,

Those Ips look good. Make sure the Subnet on both is Since they are both getting to the internet, I assume the Gateway IP is correct.

On the, got to Start>Run and type in CMD. A black window will open, and type in PING You should get four responses. If you don't, you probley have a firewall issue.

Do that same on the machine, back to the machine.

On the XP machine, follow these instruction, just skip down to Step 9.

Vista gets a little tricker, but not bad. To setup the network on the Vista machine, go here, ad click on the Network icon.
Great link to save to your desktop!

Using the network wizards should setup your firewalls to allow File and Printer Sharing.

Good luck
