Cellular Phones: Wet by accident solutions

If your phone was accidentally thrown into water or washed you need to
  1. carefully open the phone by unscrewing the back portion but remove the battery first.
  2. After opening the phone let it air dried. DO NOT expose to heat or direct sunlight. Better if you can just expose it to a open electric fan OR a hand dryer and let the air dry it for several minutes or might take longer for pure air dry let's say 3 to 5days of drying.
  3. After minutes/several days make sure all surfaces are dry, chips, case, keys etc....
  4. if the battery is working okay no need to replace but if not after all the drying better if you get a new battery don't use the old wet one.
  5. put the phone back together (make sure you put all the parts just like before). It should work now....

Phone got wet and I'm sure its a total loss. It seems to power up fine and everything looks good but it will not read the SIM card and keeps showing emergency on the home screen? Is there anything I...

Hi. Immediately take the battery out of the phone. You need to take it apart completely. Down to the keypad. U need to then spray acetone on the entire circuit board.
Then you blow-dry with a hair dryer until it is dried. Put the phone back together. You should have a now working phone
Problem is, you already booted up the phone without these steps. The phone can be damaged already. But its worth a try.

My LG Neon got wet is now really messed up

I had the same problem and fixed it rather easily, the problem is that the componants are wet and need to be dried, if you send it away your warrenty will be flaud as it is wet and all they will do to fix it is pull it apart and put it in a drying machine so i advise you to wrap it in a towel and place it somewhere warm like a hot water cubboard or directly in the sun, it needs to completly dry. you could try wrapping it in a towel and use a hairdryer on a low setting to dry out the componants, remeber to stop and let it air evey now and then or you will get condensation on your screen, hope this helps

N95 got wet with sea water. No 9 do the same as " play " button

depending on how long ago it got wet.... if it was recently, take it apart and put it in a bag of uncooked rice, the phone and battery apart. if you keep it there about three days, it should work fine.

My blackberry pearl flip got wet

Sorry to tell you but the back light on your blackberry pearl probably burnt out. That is one of the most common issues with a wet phone.

You can find blackberry flip 8230 and 8230 LCD screen replacements on ebay. Took a while but they are available now.

They are a little tricky to replace but not to hard.

Checkout the guide I wrote for replacing the blackberry flip LCD displayscreen. There are also links to by the new pearl flip LCD screens2.gif

Env2 got wet, front keypad having problmes, "o.k" button doesn't work can I remove front cover, how??

This just happened to me last night. I FIXED IT!

The bottom half was working, the top keyboard was not working. The only button on the top that worked was the power key. Today, I got a screwdriver and took the whole entire thing apart. Start by removing the battery, then take out the 6 back screws. Gently pull the back apart - this will be tough, do it evenly around all sides instead of getting just one side and yanking or you might break it. two of the screws on the top are accessible readily, but the two near the hinge are only accessible once the back is apart. Take the front apart with these 4 screws. dry it out with a q-tip. There should be four more screws inside - take those apart and dry clean. Pull the face off and dry the large white plate that receives all the button action. I put it all back together and my buttons worked again. I didn't even feel like I did anything to fix it because it wasn't really wet inside, i think there was just a micro-dot of moisture on that white plate. I hope it works for you. I was so excited about mine that I got on here to tell others. But hey - I also prayed about it and God cares even about the little things!!!!! Now - I've got the battery out and am leaving it out for a couple of days just to make sure that its totally drive because any water in there could still damage the phone if there is a power source. GOOD LUCK!

Left colum of buttons wont' work

There may still be some water or moisture under the keypad. The water may leave some conductive residue. The phone should be taken apart and properly cleaned and dried. It is also possible there there may be water damage and parts will have to be changed.

their is nothing you can do unless you have the correct tools to take your phone appart i used to work for a phone repair company and usuall it is just the case of cleaning the pads behind the buttons they either get greasy or if you have used the phone in the rain it only takes one of the pads to get wet or greasy and none of the buttons will work but iff you do take the phone apart remember their is an order to undo the screws and an order to tighten them and they need to be torqed to the right pressure to stop the board from warping hope this helps but i sugest you take it in to be done as you could totally destroy the phone putting it back together after
