Re: Failed message

Usually has to do with network settings. Like you changed the IP address or something. Go on line and find the manual for fax or scanner. Whichever is the issue

Re: Failed message

Ring the same number with an ordinary phone to see if it connects, and you get the "handshake " may well be their problem not yours!

SMTP Scan to email problem on a Ricoh MPC2500

Ricoh scanner uses a email account to send the scan to email. That email account has the wrong password on Ricoh settings, probably someone changed the password and now needs to be updated. I hope it helps.

Mt printer reads I have trouble with my printhead

There is a firmware update for the Lexmark Interpret S405 printer that addresses printhead issues. Please visit the Lexmark website to download and install the Lexmark S400 Series Firmware Update. If more than one download is listed for your model, choose the first download in the list. If it is the wrong firmware level, an error message will tell you which firmware level is correct. Please indicate if the update failed or successful.

Gestetner Dsm645 shows this message : Updating the destination list of delivery server has failed. Try updating it in scanning features. (yesterday was fine, today not ) please help me.

Your machine has lost connection with the network. This could be caused by a loose or disconnected ethernet cable, or something has changed on your network such as an IP address change. Most of the time this can be resolved by shutting the copier completely down with the main power switch (not the one on the operation panel) and then turning back on so the machine can reset the network connection. If this does not work then you would need to check your netwrok settings for the copier or contact your IT person who handles network issues.
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.

When try to scan to email after the configuration was done,it displays message (sender has not been specified) And :Updating the destination the list has failed: also displays at button of MFP display...

at least one of the destinations in the copier address book has to be designated as a sender. or, set the "auto specify sender" to on, as long as their is an e-mail address programmed in the administrator e-mail address section.

as far as updating destination list failed. if you are using scanrouter, you need to make sure that an i/o device is set in the scanrouter program. if you are not running scanrouter, turn the delivery option (or delivery server) to off, in the file transfer section of your copier.

this should solve both problems.

"Updating the destination list has failed" Error message on Savin

It is a communication problem that's all.
I may or may not be able to help.
Are you using a scanning software on your server to scan to folders? for example "Scanrouter V2"? -you can check on your server in "start" , "programs", you will see it there if it's installed.
If so do this:
open "Scanrouter V2 admin utility"(you should just have to click 'OK' when asked for password -it's usually not set) then and under the "server" button select "set I/O device", then select "remove". If you are asked to "retain settings" select "no". Then add it again> click "add", then "Browse", it should find the machine (either host name or IP address), select "ok" then name it whatever you want - it's for identification only. Destinations should re-appear if you Update.

If you scan via SMB, Email or otherwise, you'll have to get your IT dept, or whoever configured in the firstplace to figure it out.

*please rate response :)

Scanner Delivery server fails on my Gestetner dsc232

First, it doesn't work on Vista, if you have upgraded you OS??

So, have all of the destinations disappeared off the display?, and "updating destination list has failed' message displays" (or something similar).
If this is the case........ have you tried going into the "Scanrouter V2 admin utility", and under the "server" button select "set I/O device", then select "remove". If you are asked to "retain settings" select "no". Then click "add", then "Browse", it should find the machine, select "ok" then name it whatever you want -it's for identification only
This helps when (for some reason) the machine has become disasscociated with the Ip address for lack of a better description -particularily if the software is not installed on a machine with a statc IP.
Do the destinations still appear but the scans do not reach their destination even though they appear to be sent?
This happens when the Windows login password has been changed, because Scanrouter is linked to the admin password.
The way to tell is if you click to open the "Scanrouter V2 admin Utility", and get a message pertaining to a "wrong password" or similar. - Enter the NEW windows login password
Has windows Firewall been enabled? TCP port #3670 needs to be opened

Please let me know if any of these solutions help, and Please rate me :)

I cant scan, but I can print?

I understand that your mean issue is that "you cant scan", however, for me to assist you better, I just want to know how did you scan? and what did you use? there are actually two ways on how to scan. Also, what is the operating system of your computer?
1. Scanning using the buttom from the printer.
2. Scanning using the SOlution Center installed on your computer.

Meanwhile, ill just post a troubleshooting steps inorder for you to follow.

Scanning using the printer button without adding the destination list would somehow give you error message "NO SCAN OPTIONS", inorder to resolve that issue, copy and paste this link to the address bar. (note: just go directly to SOLUTION II (Populate Destination List) using that document.)

For windows Vista:

For windows XP:

Those are the link that normally we followed. It helps a lot, you can jump directly to SOLUTION II (Populate Destination List), make sure that all the options are already added to your control panel printer list.

Please let me know if the document failed to resolve your issue so that i can go ahead and give you another solution.

Thank you so much.

Can not scan to computer

below are the steps that i want you to follow. The "NO SCAN OPTIONS" refer to the absence of options when you try to scan using the printer button your printer. However, if you are going to scan from the SOlution center installed in your computer, it will scan without any problem.

Step two: Populate the destination list The destination list must be populated in order for the Scan To function to work. Follow these steps to populate the destination list.
  1. Open the HP Solution Center. Use one of the following methods to open the HP Solution Center.
    • On the Windows desktop, double-click the HP Solution Center icon.
    • On the taskbar, click Start , Programs , or All Programs , click HP , and then click HP Solution Center .
If more than one HP device is installed, click the tab for the All-in-One product. The HP Solution Center shows only the functions, settings, and support options that are appropriate for the selected HP product.
  2. Click Settings .
  3. Click Scan Settings and Preferences .
  4. Click Scan to... Setup .
  5. Click the Destination List tab.
NOTE: Depending on the computer performance, it can take several minutes for the Front Panel Destination List to populate after the printer or computer is turned on.
  6. If the Front Panel Destination List is empty, continue with this procedure. If the Front Panel Destination List contains valid scan destinations, proceed to step three to uninstall and reinstall the software.
  7. Click each program to include on the Scan To list.
  8. Click the Add arrow.
  9. Click OK .
  10. Scan a document using the Scan To button on the front panel.
  11. If the scan fails, try to scan using the HP Solution Center Scan button. If the scan still fails, please let me know.

Thank you so much.
