- I need to replace the right hand side output shaft, as I have managed to shear the shaft. Just some tips on opening the casing would be helpful

AHEM!! Could you explain a little more clearly what it is that you need help with. You have posted under Lawnboy Push Mowers asking about a tecumseh (I assume you mean Peerless) gearbox for ride on

There is an official Tecumseh/Peerless motion drive system manual available, which deals with the strip-down and rebuild of all current and recent transmissions. Parts availability MAY be a problem, however, not to mention that internal transmission parts are EXPENSIVE. A set of shift keys and bearings + time will just about equal the cost of a new transmission.
