Acer L3600 Memory Installation

Hi, I want to add memory to my Acer L3600 and want to know how to get into the unit to add this.

It's easy to remove the external cover but how do you get to where the memory should go? It's baffled me.

Thank you.

There should be two card slots on the motherboard, they have white locks on each end, push down on both sides to remove ram stick, should have two or four slots all in a row depending on the motherboard, they may be empty, thats where the new memory goes, takeing apart the case can be tricky.hidden screws under stickers or rubber feet or bumpers ,may have to remove entire motherboard to see on the back side, good luck hope this helps

How do I replace the memory (SDRAM) of ACER L3600?

Hi,
After shutting down, removing the power cord and the battery, turn the laptop upside down. About two-thirds of the back of the case is one removable lid. The lid retains its 9 screws. Remove the screws.
creativetech_74.jpg

The RAM sticks are stacked square in the middle.
The RAMs are held by 2 clasps. Gently pull them outwards and the RAM would pop up to a 45 degree angle and you can pull them out easily. Note the cut at the bottom part of the RAM and place/ slide in the New RAMs accordingly and just press them to snap them in place.

Hope it helps! Good Luck! Thanks for using Fixya!

How do I add more RAM memory

It is easy to add more RAM to the laptop, the first thing you need to know is the type of memory you model uses. Your model uses DDR2@533MHz up to 2 GB RAM (2 chips 1 GB each).
PLACE THE LAPTOP UPSIDE DOWN ON A SOFT CLOTH. MAKE SURE YOU DON'T MISPLACE THE SCREWS.
1. Remove the larger cover in the back of the laptop (2 screws) ; the memory chips are under this cover.
2. Replace the chip(s) with larger capacity chip(s).
3. Put the cover back (using the 2 screws you safely removed in step 1). Thats it!

Difficulty locating memory chips in my Acer Aspire L310

Dear its ok and as you have open the top cover so look for removing the cd or dvd drive or any other device which is covering your motherboard. and to open the same there are no screw but they use plung and lock system. So you can fine some plastic notch which marked by lock and unlock. So unlock the same and than you might get the ram slot where ram to be added. so when you added it please look for the position of notch on ram and slot are at same place and than fit is properly that it get locked. So this might definately resolve your proble.

Installing memory

HI 1008 ,
It is very important to know which branded machine you have ; whether it's Dell , HP etc. I would also require to know the model number and whether you have a Desktop machine or a Notebook.

Anyways , here's a generic guide for your help...

I want to upgrade memory of my laptop acer aspire 1691 from 512 to 2gb. Can you tell me which one to buy and how to install them. have you got any manual for acer aspire so that I know where to open and...

it's easy to add memory.
Just open the door on the back of your laptop.
You can see 2 slots of memory.
Make sure that you know the type of your memory for your laptop. I believe is DDR (not DDR2).

Install 2 RAM modules of 1 GB

The other memory may be soldered in. Check your manual and see if it has any information on additional memory. If you only have on expansion slot you may have to buy larger memory chips. like instead of 2 chips 1 gig each you may have to purchase a 2 gig chip. Computer companies usually make the chip installation easy to get to on lap tops.

Memory installation instructions

The memory cover is on the bottom of the laptop it is held in place with a screw or/screws, and may or may not have small holding tabs which keep the cover in place. when you remove the screw pop the cover off the bottom of the laptop and you will find your memory located there. BPCS
