I had downloaded a few softwares from the internet and installed it on my laptop.Since then, when ever a disc is inserted the icon of the drive is not seen and a cd/dvd cant be played or even read.
If you are receiving this Code 39 error and your CD or DVD drive
is missing and has a yellow exclamation mark in Device Manager, I hope
this information is to solve this error, follow these instructions: After removing these registry keys and rebooting, it may be necessary to reinstall any CD or DVD recording applications.
1) Close all open programs
2) Click on Start, Run, and type REGEDIT and press Enter
3) Click on the plus signs (+) next to the following folders

This folder is the DVD/CD-ROM Drive Class Description in the registry.
Look for any of the following names in the right hand column.
5) If any of the above keys shown in step 4 are listed, right-click on them and choose Delete
6) After deleting the keys, close the Registry Editor
7) Reboot your computer

Open My Computer and check to see if your CD or DVD drives have
returned. You may also want to open Device Manager and verify that the
yellow exclamation and error code on the CD or DVD drive is gone.

If you think the software you downloaded is the cause,uninstall, go to control panel ,system,device manager,look to see if your cd/dvd-rom is listed in the devices ,if it is ,right click on it,scrool down to properties,then check that your reigon is set to your location,if it has a yellow ? mark by it ,update driver,and make sure its enabled.if its not there,make sure its installed securley into the laptop,remove it and reset it ,then update drivers from support website
Insert the USB flash drive into one of the USB ports on your computer.
Momentarily a small prompt will appear saying the computer has detected a new removable device.
Insert the antivirus software installation CD into the disc drive of the computer to launch the installation wizard.
If you downloaded the program, double-click the downloaded file to launch the installation wizard.
Read through and accept the license agreement, then click "Browse" when shown the installation location.
A search window will appear on the screen. Choose the USB flash drive and click "OK."
Click "Next" for the installation name and select "Install." The antivirus program now will install onto the USB flash drive
