F 1 code after using Jenn-Aire electric oven

This has happened a couple of times before and I could clear it with the Cancel/Off key pad, but this time it keeps coming back on. I have the stove unplugged now.

F1 Defective touch pad or clock (ERC) Replace touch pad or clock (ERC). Touch pad is a more common problem. This simple test will help determine whether the ERC (Electronic Range Control or Clock) or the touch pad is defective when F1 error code is present.

Note: Some models incorporate the touch pad in to the ERC as a single assembly, in which case this test is not necessary. Simply replace the ERC (Clock).

Warning: If you feel in any way uncomfortable performing this test or making this repair, please contact a qualified appliance repair technician.

1. Disconnect power to the range (unplug the range power cord or turn the power off to the range at the circuit breaker). It is very important that the power to the range has been disconnected, so please double check before continuing.
2. Gain access inside the control panel.
3. Disconnect the touch pad (also called keypad or membrane switch) ribbon from the ERC.
4. Make sure there are no lose wires, or anything else that may cause a short when power is turned back on. Assemble the control panel back the way it was.
5. Turn the power back on.
6. Wait for at least one hour to see if the F1 code comes back (usually accompanied by a beeping sound).
7. If F1 comes back, replace the ERC. If it does not, replace the touch pad.

My 20 year old Jenn Aire electic range is going into self cleaning mode by itself.

There was a couple on YouTube with the same problem they said this is very dangerous especially if you don’t happen to be at home when it turns on so you can’t cancel it they turned it off at the electrical panel, then contact jenn aire customer service, sounds like you may need a new controller board, people on YouTube said it would be around 650 to get that fixed. Hope this helps

F7 code flashes on jenn aire 27 inch wall oven

The F7 code indicates that the touch pad either has a "stuck" or shorted key. Depending on the oven model, you either need to replace the touch pad or the controller (clock) and the touch pad. (Some Jenn Air appliances sell the two as one unit.)

Please add a comment with your model number to get additional information on the availability and price for the parts. (Parts may be available from a number of suppliers, including jenn-air.partselect.com.)

I hope this helps.

Oven beeps and displays F7. Hit stop/cancel, starts up again in about 10 seconds

Hi cpwdavis,

The F7 failure code shows a Function key shorted or stuck. To resolve this problem, you need to replace touch pad or if touch pad is part of the clock, replace the clock (ERC).

Hope it helps.

Jenn Air JMW8530CAB time/temperature light don't work

We own a Jenn-Aire model W27400W oven. The display module has gradually gone dim over a period of several months prior to the end of the warranty, and the display is no longer visible. It is apparent that several Jenn-Aire oven models use the same display. Does Anyone else have the same problem, and If so, are they willing to join a class-action suit against Jenn-Aire with us?
