Our Panasonic PT-61DLX76 has a red lamp indicator

Our Panasonic PT-61DLX76 has a red lamp indicator light that flashes one time. The power does not come on. The manual is very vague and says to call the service center. We like to fix it ourselves. Should we just replace the bulb or is it more serious? Anyone else had this?
