Samsung 4061F 40" LCD TV

My Samsung started clicking when powering it on. It would click 8 10 12 times then power up which would take 5 or 10 minutes. After about a month it started taking 20 to 30 minutes of clicking before turning on. It Finally DIED.. Once the TV turned on the Picture was perfect and everything worked perfectly, if I turned the TV off and directly back on it would turn on perfectly. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM "SHAME ON SAMSUNG" THE IP BOARDS ON THESE TV'S NEED RECALLED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...... I HAVE 2 CAPASITERS bulging and BLACK #'s CM852 & CM853 located beside the large Black square transformer. AFTER RESEARCH THIS SAME ISSUE HAS BEEN REPORT 91 TIMES ON THIS ONE MODEL TV ALONG WITH MANY MANY OTHERS. A normal everyday person would think "My TV's DEAD and I must need a new one" OUT WENT $1500.00 after 1 year of use.. THIS IS VERY BAD!!!!!!!!!!! BUY AND REPLACE THE IP BOARD AND THE PROBLEM IS FIXED.. $145.00 at www.samsungparts.com ..

To all who are having power supply issues: Samsung is now acknowledging a problem with faulty capacitors. I called 1 800 726-7864 and they said they would repair certain out-of-warranty TVs if the problem is related to the capacitors. I just called and they are sending a service rep out to diagnose the problem.

  • rsalarda Aug 18, 2011

They checked mine and the capacitor are ok....I paid 45 dollars. The repairman said that it is a power supply board problem. Fine I replace it at atune of 140 dollars. Waited for 8 days and replace it asap once I recieved the replacement parts. I was positive till 20 minutes later, same problem appears. I called local samsung tech and asked them to fixed it. Took the TV and left. Called after 5 days and tech said that the labor will be 175 plus 350 dollars in parts. With the latest Cost plus what I already spent I will end up paying 710 dollars and the mechanic said they cannot gurrantee that the tv will be fixed. So I got the message and got me an LG for 480 plus 82 dollars in extended warranty. The tech person was honest enough to tell me although inderectly that the model are worthless piece of ****! Samsung is now called DamnSung!

The cheaper and possibly easier solution, which I did a couple days ago is to replace the capacitors. All you need to do is get some 1000 microfarad 35 volt capacitors from radio shack, which cost 1.59 each. You solder out the old caps and stick these in their place. This will cost you at most 6 dollars to replace the four bad caps. If you don't have a soldering gun, you can also get that at radio shack for like 20 bucks. I don't have a great deal of experience with soldering, but I was able to do this. Good luck

This I have not tried......but I think this one was tried by others but the problem appears again. My anaysis on this this is that this problem is a series of failures, not just one but many! The power supply board and the rest are all affected. That is why Samsung cannot even field a simple repair solutions. BEcause they knew and they wont tell you that the problem is cathastropic failure. The solution is to get as much refund for the failure of a 200 dollars tv that lasted only 2 years or less. You may get a prorated value of 400 or 500 dollars sepending on the serial numer or reciept you purchase your tv. I recommend that you talk to samsung and ask for a refund and they may give you the rest of the money. Its better than nothing. Let say you will get 600 to 700 dollars for your unit! Try it and it has been done and others have gotten refund on a prorated basis.

I just tried 1-800-SAMSUNG and was told by the representative I spoke with that yes, they receive lots of calls about this issue, but no, they have not decided to do anything about it yet.

I asked for someone I could speak with about being a better corporate citizens and she told me to check their website.

call them and ask for refund and if you are not successful let me know by posting "HELP" and I will give you the number or the department that handles these refund! They will ask you a series of questions and far as the problem with the tv is concern. But they know that the tv is worthless and just a formality like an interview, they will end up offering you a refund from the original cost. Check your reciept. If you buy it at Sears or BEstbuy...dont call them they are worthless scumbag that dont do a darn thing. They will charge you an arm and a leg just for them to go to your house and check the unit. in the end they will say throw it away. and charge your 140 dollars for just showing up at your house.

Clicks and clicks but wont power on

Hi.

The TV is in forced standby because an internal fault has been detected. The clicking is the protection circuit that prevents the TV from starting to avoid more damage to internal parts.

You can try disconnecting power cord for ten minutes but I doubt that this will fix the problem. When the TV is in protect mode (that is the name for the "clicking and no power on") repair is usually needed. Testing will start from PSU to inverter passing through main controller board. One of the most common faults affecting this TV is the power supply, but all parts must be tested.

If you want to call a technician ring your local Samsung Support number.

Regards.

The TV ckicks and clicks and clicks instead of turning on for up to 5-10 minutes

The problem is with the PSU of your TV, may be a dry solder or probably weakened capacitors, you need to replace all those capacitors that are swollen/leaked, ensure the power cable is alright.

Is there a clicking sound? Unplug the power cord for 20 seconds and see if this helps reset the circuitry. If the clicking continues, go to http://www.fixya.com/support/t722954-samsung_lns4051_dx_makes_clicking. If you can see defective caps on the power board and don't feel comfortable replacing, parts can be ordered at PartStore.com.

Samsung 40" tv not coming on

I would check out the power supply module for bad caps with bulging tops. Check DC voltages at the output connectors, you should have 5, 12, 24V.

When I try to turn on my Samsung LN-T4042H LCD HDTV it is now constantly clicking in a continuous loop and will not immediately turn on. It started out small- a few clicks yesterday morning. Today it...

There is a problem with the power supply in your TV. The regulator switch is causing teh clicking sound you hear. In order to fix it, you will need to replace the power supply. This is done by taking off the back cover of the TV, locating the power supply which is usually a yellow board that will have many high voltage capicators on it and replacing it with a new one.

Could I change NTSC to PAL N my LCD Sansung LN T

NTSC and Pal are mainly related to Cable/Air reception. Unless you are trying to connect a SCART cable, you can probably just use the video inputs of the TV. Power Supply differences will be the big issue probably.

Power won't come on- constant clicking loop instead

My T.V. did the same thing and it was due to bad capacitors on the power supply board. the tops of the capacitors were bulged, once replaced it worked fine. It involves sodering in new capacitors total cost $30. that includes buying the sodering tool. Keep looking around on line someone had pictures step by step how to do it.
