To set stitch length and width:
1. Select the stitch in "Stitch Men"
2. Set the preferred stitch length and width in "Sewing Information Menu"
Both of these are shown on page 4:2 in the User's Guide which can also be downloaded for free from:

To guide the fabric so the stitching is consistently at the same distance from the edge, use the markings on the throat plate .... the metal plate around the clear bobbin cover. Alternatively there a number of accessory feet which guide the fabric for that perfect stitching. You may want to refer to the Accessory User's Guide found at

Have a look at such feet as:
- clear seam guide foot
- edge stitching foot
- edge / guiding foot
These are the most often used, although there are others, depending on the need and application.
