-   I have a 2 yr old Hitachi Ultravision, 55" LCD. Replaced bulb a few months ago. Worked fine for a month or so but now, after the set has been on for 10-15 mins, the picture turns reddish or greenish. Blues disappear. I have read online reports stating the color engine goes bad in Hitachi LCDs after a couple years..also read the it may be the convergence chips? Repair tech is coming out next week but I can make most repairs myself. Dont want to throw bad money at it if its a waste of time. Any ideas? How do I test the set. Thanks for input. -   claw187
I emailed Hitachi and they sent a new light engine to my local electronics store that they do business with. All I had to pay for was the installation which was today. I did not have to pay for the part or shipping. My tv is just like new again and the red glow is gone. I did not realize how bad it had gotten. Do not call the regular customer service because they cannot or do not want to help.
