If your using HDMI, pull it from the receiver and run directly to the TV, then run optical or digital coaxial to your receiver. It's referred to in the industry as a "Handshake" issue. It has to do with firmware and hardware of your receiver and continuous ridiculous updates from the recording industry to protect copyright. Hope this helps.
