Network lock hi. I'm in Australia and bought my samsung sgh-x640 on an optus plan a fair while ago. i now need to put a telstra prepaid sim in, because i'm in a seriously remote environment and telstra's the only damn company that works out here, but i have a screen saying network lock. Any unlocking codes? I'm going nuts out here... thanks in advance

now your phone is open next input this

next again input another

i have a similar problem on my samsung x640. but with mms. they tried everything at optus and finally put my sim in another phone and the mms worked. so they are saying it is a software problem and that it needs to be sent away to be fixed..... at a cost of $90!!!! they told me to just get a new phone. It depends on which carrier the prepaid was with.
if The original prepaid and your wifes plan are both with the same carrier then it should be no problem just swap the sim over.
eg ( telstra to telstra ) or Optus To optus.
If the v3 is an Optus predaid and your wifes sim is a telsra plan then it wont accept the sim as the carriers lock the prepaid phones to their network
