Jack plug to motorised focus for Meade 200LXGPS

This has come adrift from its lead. It is a conventional 2.5mm stereo jack but the lead is four core with yellow, red, blue and black leads. Can anyone tell me how they should be wired?

The standard connection is just 2 wires, and takes 12 volts. The power supply that you have was probably from a batch that may have tied the connections together to get the current capacity but retain flexability. Meade service should be able to help.

How to wire Phono Jacks/Plugs and Power Supplies.

A, any, MONO Jack/Plug it is always wired the same. There are only 2 wires, one + Plus, Positive. and one, - Negative, ETH, GND. The Minus, GND, ETH, - Negative, always, logically, goes to the or Negative or "Case" ETH, Gnd, those terms all mean the same. Now the + Positive is always Plus,. If the connection is for a Coaxial Cable then, the inner core is Plus +, and the Shield is always - Negative, Gnd, Earth. All Jacks and Plugs wire the same. With a Phono MONO Phono Jack, the "Bulb End" is always Positive, the Case or Outer is - Negative. NOW, IF the Jack/Plug is a STEREO one, then with that type of Plug/Jack there is simply, Two + Plus Wires, and, Two, - Negative, Eth, Wires, these Two, Negatives, Earths all Contact together, and go to the Negative or Outer Connection. The Two + Plus Wires, go, One to each of the tip connection, of the Two Positive Connections, that go to the end, Bulb Tip A & Tip B, of the Stereo Jack./Plug.
For Power Connections the same is generally true, the Centre Conductor is usually Positive, while the other one is - Negative, case, eth gnd.

You need a 3.5mm stereo jack to twin 1/4" jack plugs. That will get audio from your laptop to the mixer. Then, being Peavey, probably a pair or jack to jack 1/4" screened leads for signal from mixer to amp. Then loudspeaker leads to suit your amp and speakers.

Can someone please explain how to link up outboard EQ/comp to my Fostex 160? Advice most appreciated! Best, Stu. I want to linkup a TL Audio 5013 EQ and a 5051 Compressor to my Fostex 160. What method...

Hiya, you will need to make up a new jack cable with a stereo jack that then leads to 2 mono jacks. The tip goes to one jack and the ring goes to the second jack. In the Fostex there are 4 SEND/RECIEVE sockets. these are the interface jacks. Plug the stero jack into one of them Then the jack that connects to the ring goes to input of the EQ, the OUT of the EQ goes to IN of the COMP and then OUT of the COMP goes back the other Jack plug connected to the tip (the grounds are common byt he way and connected together in the stereo jack). The EQ and COMP are now connected into that channel you have chosen. See pic attached

No stereo signal out from yamaha p 2500 s

It's unclear what type of connectors are on the end of the cables(s) coming from your computer.

This amp only works with mono 1/4" TRS and XLR connectors, not standard RCA connectors.

Did you try the Right one in the Left Channel to see if the Left Channel worked?

Refer to the following manual and read up on the connectors (page 7) and the use of the Stereo/Parallel/Bridge Switch (page 8). When it is NOT in Stereo Mode the unit only uses the Right Channel controls and input.

STEREO/PARALLEL/BRIDGE switch
Use this switch to select the operating mode.
• STEREO mode
Channels A and B operate independently (as with a conventional
stereo amplifier). The Channel A input goes to the Channel
A output jacks, and the Channel B input goes to the
Channel B output jacks.
• PARALLEL mode
The Channel A input signal is output through both the Channel
A and Channel B output jacks. The Channel B input jacks do
not function. Channel A and B volumes can be independently
adjusted.
• BRIDGE mode
The Channel A input signal is output from the BRIDGE output
jacks. To adjust the volume, you must use the Channel A volume
control knob.

Confuse about the jack

Both stereo and mono jacks will work fine on the inputs, any guitar or mic lead will work a treat.

You can use stereo jacks for the outputs too, but to keep it simple just use a mono jack in the L out and a mono jack in the R out.
