try to change hte default search provider.by going into: tools - internet options - general - search . if it still doesn't work run a scan with this: http://www.pcsafety.us/portable-tools/portable_antimalware.exe

Is that a complete different web site? Then probably you have a trojan or worse, a virus in the system.
If a particuler site is involved, report against it in symantec.com.
