Can anyone help me with the exact code to fix this? If I press "play" 1-5-9 then the screen gives me 8 spaces. I assume it should be 1-1-1-0-0-0-0-0. (as there's a line showing 2220000 on the main info page). I've pressed "play" after entering the 8 digits...but that didn't work..Any help would be appreciated...

Q: What is Regional Coding enhancement(RCE)?
A: It's a digital enhancement added to some Warner Bros and Columbia DVDs to stop region 1 (R1) DVDs from playing on Region-free DVD players.
Q: What's the difference between Region Coding and RCE?
A: Regional Coding enhancement(RCE) is an additional layer of protection which some studios have placed on select REGION 1 DVDs to prevent them from playing on region-free or multi-region players. Region Coding is a part of the DVD spec which divides the world into 8 regions:
Region 1: U.S., Canada, U.S. Territories
Region 2: Japan, Europe, South Africa, and Middle East (including Egypt)
Region 3: Southeast Asia and East Asia (including Hong Kong)
Region 4: Australia, New Zealand, Pacific Islands, Central America, Mexico, South America, and the Caribbean
Region 5: Eastern Europe (Former Soviet Union), Indian subcontinent, Africa, North Korea, and Mongolia
Region 6: China
Region 7: Reserved
Region 8: Special international venues (airplanes, cruise ships, etc.)
Basically, DVDs released in each region will typically only play on players sold in that region. IE a DVD released in the UK *Region 2* would not play on a player sold in the us *Region 1*. You can tell what Region a DVD is coded for by looking at the back of the box for a Globe with a number on it. The number correlates to the region list above. If a DVD is listed as 'Region 0' it means that it isn't coded for any region and should play on ALL regions players.

Try this out it is for a different model but might work:
In TV mode, on the remote control press [0], [6], [2], [5], [9], and [6] and then press the [MENU] button.
2. Select the "DVD" option on the menu, using the arrow keys, and then press the [ENTER] button.
3. Highlight the "Region" option, and then use the left and right arrow keys to change the region from 2 (UK), to "ALL".
4. Exit by pressing the [MENU] key until you are back to TV.

- Send the infra-red code RC6 (aka Codeset 4, Key 235) to your player. You can do this with a OneForAll remote such as the OneForAll 6 (or URC7560) or OneForAll 4 Digital with the following instructions:
- Configure the Remote using the setup code 0539
- Press the Magic button
- Enter the code 085
- Download the .pdb file into your Palm Pilot
- Press the OmniRemote key marked as 955 Multizone
- The onscreen display should show 11 spaces like this: '-----------'
- Using the number keys on your DVD player's Remote Control, enter the code 222 222 005 255. Note that this is 12 digits and the last digit will not show on the on-screen display
- Press the Play button on the DVD player's Remote
- The onscreen display should now show the words No Disc
- Power off your DVD player, wait 10 seconds and then power back on
You may also use the following methods for players with firmware 6.2:
- Turn your DVD player On
- The display will show you no disc
- Press Play and then press 1, 5, 9 on the DVD Remote
- On DVD display will appear ------ -----
- Key in 101 040 000 140 on the Remote when you press the last digit you will see a little point

Last try this :
cdRegion 1
Play 159 111 001 08 Play
Region 2
Play 159 221 001 08 Play
You must reset the player from the system menu after each change.
When you have successfully changed the region you will also see a number appear in the top left corner. This is the number of times that
the region has been changed.
You are limited to 25 times but the counter can be reset using
Play 159 Play
You have to be quick when entering the codes as it seems temprimental
to if it'll accept them. It might help to reset the player first.
In case you need other regions the first part of the code is the region
and the next is the tv system where 1 = NTSC 2 = PAL 3 = Auto
EG 111 = Region 1 NTSC Don't change the last part.
The manual only lists regions 1-4 but using 5 or 6 for the region might work.
