Question about Acer Aspire One Netbook 8.9" Notebook
I have this problem where my standard issue usb mouse that came with the netbook works, as do most other usb mouses, but my built in mouse pad refuses to work at all. help!
Try Fn and then F7.

Do you have an option to turn the touchpad on ie and "f" key?
I expect you have turned it off

Testimonial: "this was the problem. there is an Fn key that when pressed along with F7 it will toggle it on and off. thank you."
If the buttons work, but the touchpad doesn't the ribbon cable under the keyboard may have come loose..
You'll need to lift the keyboard up and slide the cable back into the clip. (see the video on youtube for adding ram, and you can see how to lift the keyboard)
