-   I have the same problem; the LG RC 199H player either doesn't recognize a disk or once it starts playing it freezes and the only way to get the disk out is to unplug the machine then plug it back in. When I bought it the sales person at Best Buy told me it was the best player/recorder they had. It was the fist DVD player we bought and thought at first it was bad disks. Now we know the player/recorder is just a piece of junk!-   affranchi

-   It records just fine and plays back it's own disks, but it's disks will not play in any other player or in the computer. In fact computers even read them as blank disks.-   Guest

1 send it to lg with a nasty letter2 throw it in the trash ane dont buy LG
I had the same problem. I had a month left of my warranty and they fixed it for me. That was a year ago. Haven't had that problem since. Now I'm having issues with editing the disks... it likes to freeze!

I have comcast digital cable. When I use the auto mode for channels on my recorder it does install some channels. A message comes up that this channel has switched to digital. Is there some kind of adapter that I Thankscan use on my recorder so I can record these channels.

As with everyone else. It stopped reading DVD's after 3 months. I sent it back and they replaced it. 6 months later the replacement does the same thing. I am with everyone else I am going to steer clear of LG from now on.
