Question about Frigidaire PLD2855RFC Dishwasher

1 Answer

What does Frigidaire dishwasher timer code "Hd"stand for? It's not listed in the manual and I couldn't find it listed online. If it's just a "Hold" code (which is what I suspect) for extra washing time, what would be causing that? I'd like the shortest wash time possible to save $$$ and resources. Model number is BGBD2432KFO. Thank you.

“HO” or “Hd” means the dishwasher’s cycle time is being extended while it is heating water. At certain points in the wash cycle, the dishwasher uses hotter water to ensure a clean load of dishes. If it detects that the water is not hot enough, it will heat it.

If you’re seeing “HO” or “Hd” frequently, check the temperature of the water available to your dishwasher. It’s best to do this at the sink closest to it, allowing the hot water to run until it reaches its maximum temperature before you test it with a thermometer. For best results, water should be not less than 120°F.

How do I find out the error codes?

Good Afternoon Delia Collins, thank you for your post!

Based off the information you have provided your Frigidaire dishwasher is flashing an "ER" error code on the panel. Typically, the "ER" stands for an error code sometimes to help clear out a false error code you can perform a reset on your dishwasher. In order to do that you would need to disconnect power from your dishwasher for approximately ten minutes.

If you continue to experience an issue with the error code I would recommend contacting a technician for proper repairs. The technician will be able to properly diagnosis your dishwasher and this will help you to avoid any unnecessary part purchases. Hopefully this is helpful. -Matt

Wash cycle knob

It's a quirk of the cycle timer. You can replace the timer ($) or live with it. Besides, a replacement might have the same quirk

For the calcium, you can try TANG drink mix.
There also is a product called Restore 4, but it has a lot of fumes. It removes deposits. Get this at a home store, or online.

Frigidaire dishwasher not completing cycle.

hi,
The cycle doesn't complete
If the cycle doesn't complete, check these:

Water-heating cycle
Timer

Water-heating cycle
Many dishwashers heat the wash and/or rinse water to a higher temperature, as the cycle calls for it. In these cycles, the dishwasher pauses after it has filled with water, waiting for the water to reach the pre-set temperature. What happens next, depends, as follows:

On some units, the pause is timed and the unit continues after the allotted time.

On others, the cycle can't continue until the water reaches the higher temperature. If you have this type of dishwasher and the water isn't being heated (say, because of a problem with the heating element or thermostat), after the unit stops at the heating cycle, it never continues. When you repair the heating-system problem, the "cycle problem" is fixed too.

Timer
Timers don't often fail. But if every other part of the dishwasher seems to be working properly and the timer knob seems to be stuck in one place--doing one function continuously--the timer may be at fault. Dishwasher timers can't be repaired. If yours is defective, replace it.

I see an error code
If your dishwasher has a digital readout and you see an error code, it may indicate a problem with the unit. If this happens, look up the error code in your owner's manual to find out what the problem is.

Good Luck
Thanks for using FixYa
