I had the same problem with the music files. They wouldn't play through the Rogers music Player but through the phones music player...go to the menu...media...media player and you'll find your songs and playlists.

does anyone know if the songs will play through the rogers Music Player?

You also use a sd adapter for the micro adapter and drag & drop your files to the sd card

Have the phone set as Mass Storage.

go to settings, connection, usb connection mode, mass storage. Open up My Computer and the phone should appear as an option.

You must have a memory card in order to put anything on the phone.

Nokia 5300 : Roger's Customer Service was useless on this and only read to me from the manual I already have.

To get the music to play in the Roger's Music Player... DO NOT CONVERT to the suggested format but leave it as an MP3. ( will be playing witht he acc format, uncertain on that.)

I just tried this and it worked, what I did was hook up my Shine, then open it with My Computer-Removable Disk then just drag songs from Itunes into the Music File.

The software it comes with doesn't do anything for music. When you hook it up to the USB it should go into mass storage mode. Then you just drag and drop music files over. The only problem I'm having is figuring out which folder to put music in since there are 2 menus for sounds/music on the phone. And when you plug the phone in, it brings up 2 drives. One for the internal phone memory and one for the external memory card.

Can you tell me how to set mp3 songs as my ringtone

You can download a free program called bitpim from bitpim.org. You can make your own tones, and transfer pics, videos, addressbook and more. There are some good youtube videos that will show step by step how to make the ringtones.
If you do not have a manual for your phone and you would like one, you can download it here:

http://www.phonedog.com/cell-phone-research/lg-shine-cu720_user-manual.aspx

You can download ringtones from the at&t store from the phone. Then once it is downloaded, you can set as ringtone or playback. The info is on page 76 of the manual. Too much info to paste here. If you want more info, let me know.

Lg Shine Flip Ringtones

-Make sure the file is appropriate.. 30 seconds or less, mp3 format
-When you add your music to the memory card, it shows up as a song but not as a ringtone right?

The solution is to create a different folder rather than using the “Music” folder the phoneautomatically creates for you. Transfer your music to this new folder you’ve created. The ringtones should show up as long as it fits the requirements

Hope this helps

Instructions:
  1. Install software listed above

  5. Choose Edit, Settings
  6. Change Phone Type to "LG-VX8700" (this is the CDMA version Shine)
  7. Click OK to close
  8. Choose View, View Filesystem
  9. Click the Filesystem icon

My lg shine flip

Could you try and download limewire (google it) or something

find what song you'd like to use as your ringtone, and then transfer it to your phone using the cable that came with your LG?

On my phone it can only store so much and then it needs to use a minidisk.

Another way is to go on the internet using your phone and download songs...maybe there's some free ones that are available.

hope this helps.

If you're ripping your hair out this sunny Sunday afternoon...remember, you are NOT on you own! : )

LG shine: using my mp3s as ringtones

Make sure the file is mp3 format, 600 kb or smaller, and 30 seconds or less. You can make your own ringtones at the following sites:

www.cellsea.com
www.makeownringtone.com
www.ventones.com
www.myxertone.com

Once you have your ringtones ready, there are many different steps you can follow depending on what you have available on your phone.

1. If you have internet/text messaging: sites like cellsea and myxertone will provide you with instructions.

2. If you have a usb cable: connect your phone making sure it's in Mass Storage Mode. You can do this by going to settings, connection, usb connection mode, mass storage. Open the folder for your phone on your computer. It should be one of the choices of storage when you go to My Computer. Place your ringtones into the Sounds folder. And voila! It should be in the ringtone menu in your phone.

3. If you have a MicroSD memory card: Create a folder on the memory card. Name it anything other than Music (the phone will automatically create a Music folder which can not be used as ringtones). Once you insert your card into your phone, the tunes should come up when you open your ringtone menu!

Hope this helps! Good luck! :)

How do i put ringtones on my lg shine?

SOLUTION!!! (for those with a memory card but no usb cable!)

I’ve been having the same problem in trying to find a way to set my music as ringtones. Here’s what you can do:

-Make sure the file is appropriate.. 30 seconds or less, mp3 format
-When you add your music to the memory card, it shows up as a song but not as a ringtone right?

The solution is to create a different folder rather than using the “Music” folder the phone automatically creates for you. Transfer your music to this new folder you’ve created. The ringtones should show up as long as it fits the requirements! :] Hope this helps!
