Question about Kenmore 13593 Stainless Steel Built-in Dishwasher

1 Answer

My Kenmore 13593 dishwasher has stopped washing properly. It seems like the spray nozzles are not spinning. Almost as though there is not enough pressure or their is an internal leak. I have plenty of household water pressure. I removed the inside pieces down to the shaft and cleaned it out thoroughly. Could there be a worn out piece that is letting the water bypass the spinners? Are these parts available aftermarket?

Look for plugged screens in the pump area... House water pressure has nothing to do with washing pressure as house water only fills, then the dw pump takes over...

Why do dishes on the top rack feel dirty after washing?

probably not getting enough water pressure in the top section of the machine to was properly ( dirty spray bar jets /nozzles)
do a machine clean using good quality recommended agents
A major problem that occurs with dish washers is the failure to rinse off the items to be washed before installing in the machine
this refuse then blocks up the jets and nozzles in the spray bars and stops the pump from reaching full pressure.

Kenmore ultra wash dishwasher has not enough water presure to turn the upper level water jets. Any sugestions?

Remove the sprayer and clean the spray nozzles...they are probably clogged with dirt and excessive dishwashing soap. Mine actually had small chips of my plates in it!

Hi,

Probably a blocked spray arm (part that spins around). Remove each of the spray arms and check and clean all the holes as this is where the water sprays out from to clean the dishes and glasses. When they are blocked you get poor wash results.

Hope this helps

Want to replace dishwasher panel with stainless steel

I'm not sure if that replacemetn part would work, but I know you can get cheap stainless panels and faux stainless options at applianceart.com. They have colors, textures, seasonal, designs, and stainless steel. You can choose between faux stainless (as seen on HGTV and the Today show) or regular stainless metal. check out www.applianceart.com

Kenmore Elite Ultra Wash Dishwasher - top rack arm not spinning

Hi: I just posted a similar problem, but found a solution. After taking the arm, etc. apart (and verifying no blockages), I thought maybe the lack of water pressure was being caused by the fact that there are TWO holes for the top spray arm (higher and lower rack setting) on my model. ie. that water was being forced out of both holes, causing a drop in water pressure, which was causing the top spray arm to stop spinning. I plugged the unused hole with a wine bottle cork (to keep the water from spraying out the unused hole), and voila, it now works.

I wish all appliance fixes were this easy...!
