I am talking about the part that gives tension on the belt. The picture you sent me is not very clear

  • defalcoe Sep 20, 2009

It is the idler pulley that I don't know how to affix it to the dryer. It fell off when I removed the drum. I need a large picture of the idler pulley and how it is installed.

  • defalcoe Sep 21, 2009

It is only a picture of the part. But it doesn't show how it is installed .

  • defalcoe Sep 21, 2009

I need to see a picture of how it hooks on the floor. I went to the blog you told me to. It only has a picture of the part. That is no help at all.

  • defalcoe Sep 21, 2009

I see plenty of pictures of the part. But none of you show me exactly how it hooks into the floor. I need to knoe where and how it hooks in.

  • defalcoe Sep 21, 2009

I am told there is no such address.

The idler only hooks into the floor nothing holds it in place except the tension of the belt.

  • TomZS Sep 21, 2009

The picture you looked at is of the part installed with the belt in place, the idler arm and pulley assy only hook into the floor there are no fasteners to hold it in you have to hold it in place while you thread the belt around it,once the belt is on it stays in place.

    Hi

You can click the pictures to Zoom in, the part you want to install is the idler pulley i think. Please follow this procedure to re-install the belt--

1-- Prepare for replacing the dryer belt by lifting the
lint-screen cover on the top of the dryer. Then remove the lint screen. Skip
this step if your lint screen is inside the door. Remove the 2 Phillips screws
    inside the door instead.

2-- After removing the lint screen, lift the cover and
remove the screws that hold the lint-screen housing to the dryer top.

3-- Slide a putty knife between the front panel and the top
near a corner. Lift the corner and repeat on the other side.

4-- To remove the lower panel, insert the putty knife
between the panel and each side. Then twist to release clip.

    5-- Place a few wood
blocks under the drum. These support the drum when the front panel is moved
    away from the sides.

6-- Loosen the screws that secure the bottom of the front
panel to the dryer sides. Do not completely remove the screws.

7-- Remove the screws that secure the front panel to the
dryer sides at the top. These are accessed from the inside of the cabinet.

8-- Lean the front panel away from the sides and slip the
new dryer belt over the drum. Then resecure the front panel.

9-- Check that the lip on the back of the dryer drum fits
properly against the seal on the rear bulkhead of the dryer.

10-- Locate the original position of the old belt, and slip
the new belt in place. Keep the grooved side of the belt down.

11-- Push the idler pulley toward the motor and loop the
doubled-up belt around the idler pulley. Slip belt around motor pulley.

12-- Rotate the drum counterclockwise a few turns to check
belt tracking. Then replace remaining components and test run.

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

    Thanks

My dryer drum will not turn...."how to change your dryer belt"

There are many styles and different models of dryers but the one thing they all have in common is the dryer has a belt that turns the drum.In the procedure below we will show you how to take apart your dryer, change your belt, and show you the correct threading of your belt. Here is a typical Kenmore dryer idler pulley(it has a plastic wheel on it) motor/pulley (the pulley is attached to the backside of the motor) and the belt configuration.Note the picture below.
kdrake84_25.jpg
Each different model dryer also has a different lint trap location. This location will have a bearing on how your dryer is taken apart and how to change your belt.

Note the location of your lint trap and choose the correct video on how to take your dryer apart. There are two different locations,on top,and in the door.

My gas dryer will not turn the clothes drum

The drive belt that turns the drum has broken off or fell off. Sears does sells these belts in a kit forn including the tensioner pulley. Purchase that. The top and front panel will need to come off to do this repair

The belt around the drum of my dryer broke. i have a new one just need some tips on puting it on. Also when i pulled the drum out there was a white/clear piece, round in size, and a metal clip laying on...

don't know what the pieces are that you found on the floor of dryer, check the front panel for the clip, might have popped off when you took the dryer apart or these things fell out of clothing that were put into dryer.now the belt, rap it around the drum with the ridges touching the drum, smooth side up.stick the drum in place and spin it a few times till the felt in the back is lined up and the rollers are lined up on the drum, stick your head inside the drum and hold the drum up with your shoulder, just pinch the belt together and pull it under the pulley and attach it onto the motor shaft, that's it.picture your pants belt floded in half, around four inches from the folded part pinch the belt together and you'll have a loop on the end, your fingers are the bottom part of the pulley and the loop end is the part of the belt that connects to the motor shaft.hope this helps, let me know how you make out

Is there a procedure to change belt? Also 1 (left) drm roller

No set procedure. Idler wheel is a common failure on Amana Dryers. Remove front panel and front bulkhead, from there you can remove belt from idler and pull drum from unit. The screws are a 5/16" hex head. While you have the unit taken apart, ensure you vacuum the interior cabinet and make sure your vent out of the house is clean, this will help prevent a house fire.

How remove front panel of frig gas dryer faqg7077kw

Hello there:
Here is how to disasseble the dryer
White/Westinghouse - Frigidaire style dryers- How to take apart....

White/Westinghouse, Frigidaire style dryers ( some 417.######## Kenmore dryers ) - How to take apart:
Disconnect power first In order to test and effect repairs on any product, you must be able to disassemble and reassemble the appliance. So lets start with disassembly on this dryer. Unplug the dryer. Get the top up by pushing in on 2 clips on either side as shown in this picture. We need to remove the front of the dryer next. There are 2 or 4 screws inside at the top on most of the older dryers that we need to remove. Once the screws are removed, you can pull forward on the front and lift the complete front off the 2 clips on the bottom of the dryer. Unplug the door switch wires and set the front aside.

if you need to further dissassemble it follow the next steps
Next step in disassembly is to remove the belt from the idler and the motor pulley. This is done at the rear of the dryer. Remove the 2 screws holding the inspection plate on the left rear of the dryer. Remove the plate. Look carefully at how the belt threads around the motor pulley and idler pulley so you can replace it. Remove the belt from the motor pulley. Return to the front of the dryer, grasp the belt in one hand and the front of the drum in the other hand. Lift up on the rear of the drum and pull forward with the other hand. There is a ball on the rear of the drum that rides in a socket located in the center of the back of the dryer. You are lifting the knob up and out of the socket. Look in the center of this picture for the socket. You have taken the dryer far enough apart at this point so that you can accomplish any repairs needed on this style dryer. It is not necessary to go this far for all repairs, but if you need to disassemble, you have the information.

Dryer squeek when running

A squeak is usually a roller that needs grease. It's best taken care of, you don't want the roller to wear out. Take the dryer apart, remove the drum and use heat resistant grease on the roller shafts. Note how the belt goes so you will be able to get it back on. You may need snap ring pliers to get at the roller shafts.

Kenmore Dryer Drum is very loose and noisy.

It sounds like one of the rollers has a bad bearing. You will need to take the front off the dryer, unhook the belt, and remove the drum to check the rollers.
