Why wont my Milwaukee impact driver work when I pull the trigger ?

If the accu says Hi I am Full on the test button , i say short REPLACE ancre(armature AND carbon brushes together. remember if you have short brushes and you are working professional every day with this tool your brushes are AGAIN be shorted in a few weeks . 4 brushes in a brushholder and be carefull with soldering on the realy expensive switch if to long heat on the contacts it will also defect . MArketing technical position numbers to buy on differend models can be possible ask your dealer for a cheaper deal because what realy needed is the armature and the brushes not that complete unit , its a milwaukee marketing option because of the price Unfortunately

We need a demagnetizing switch...cannot find supplier for parts

they don't sell just the switch, you would need to replace the control panel. You can go to and find a service center/parts supplier on their site. If you have trouble finding one give me your general area with zip code and I will see what I can do to help.

The power will not turn on checked the e-stop button and is is very loose

I am assuming that you have this tool on some steel. If so and the unit will not turn on I would think that the panel is bad. You can find the breakdown and wiring instructions for this tool by going to and typing in your separate model number but you will need the serial number also.

Milwaukee heavy duty hammer drill only works when pointed upwards. As soon as I point it down the motor stops (or doesn't start with the drill in that position).

could be loose connection at the switch or brush holders. You can go to to download a breakdown for this tool.

4270-21 Compact Magnetic Drill Press: mag base will not hold at all...

If I'm not mistaken, these drills use an electromagnet. Start by measuring the current when the magnet is switched on, but not the drill. If you don't have a current meter, just plug the drill plus an incandescent light into a long lightweight extension cord. You should see the light dim a little when you switch on the magnet. If the light doesn't dim, you just aren't getting power to the electromagnet, and it's probably a broken wire or a bad switch. If the tool has it's own fuse, I would think it would be for the drill only, not the electromagnet.

When turned on in forword the buzzer comes on like the magnet is not turned on. runs fine in reverse

could be a couple things, what thickness material are you trying to drill?? Also if the for/rev buttons are jammed this could cause this, check for low voltage, usually when the buzzer does sound the magnet is not energized and it could be a faulty panel that would need replaced. this tool has a limited 5 year warranty. Let me know what you find and I will try and help more

Mag drill will not hold strong to surface

hi first try the magnet on a clean flat piece of m/s sheet/plate 2 inches bigger than the magnetic base ,it should be very hard to remove make shure the magnetic base is clean and the beam you are drilling is paint and rust free if possible clean up the beam with a sanding disc try it make shure the cutter is sharp and use coolant a dull /blunt tool will need more force a good tool almost cuts with no effort on the handle if you are drilling upside down or on the side of the beam NOmagi drill will do this without extra support silk090

2 Milwaukee 18VDrills stopped working - NEED repair help

This may not be as easy as you think. The first one my have trouble with the trigger switch, but it could be the motor. Without checking continuity, or replacing them individually you will not be able to tell which one is bad.

Another problem could be the brushes. That is what is most likely wrong with the 2nd one. Remove the 2 black screw caps on the rear of the drill, and remove the carbon brushes. Do they look worn? If so they will need to be replaced. If this is the case the motor may be breaking down, and wearing the brushes down too fast.

The good news is that Milwaukee Tools, offer a 5 year limited warranty, If you have a receipt, or can read the serial number. Take it in, or mail it to a service center. They will take care of it for you if they are less then 5 years old.
