Question about Logitech QuickCam Connect Webcam

Rocketfish webcam Skype videocall freezes image on Mac

When I am on a Skype call, the image of the other person freezes after 5-10 seconds into the call, then my video drops and i get message "video not available, camera is unplugged or is in use by another application". I have a Mac OSX 10.4.11 (memory 512 MB SDRAM), Processor: 800 MHzPowerPC G4, and i have the latest Skype version 2.8.
Everything was working fine a couple of weeks ago, by the way. I don't know what changed. It started with the freezing image problem, and now with the camera problem.

You are not the only one. I have a gorup of 6 people, on Vista, XP, with QuickCamPros and other brands and we communicate daily. We are ALL having the same problem as a result of the last Skype update.

It is NOT your system, it's Skype's issue. Do like we do and in the lower right corner of your screen you can report the quality of the call. Keep doing it over and over and maybe they'll do something about it!

First - It does'nt depend on your location where do you stay.
Second- High internet speed is require for video calling, but it should also be consistent, otherwise you will face this issue like you are facing now.

Check your ttl reply status you will get to know, or check with your service provider for internet connection consistency

My video freezes about every 20 seconds i have to keep restarting

Could be a bandwith issue, but also try reinstalling Skype.
Sometimes downgrading to an older Skype version can also help.
